I have 2k stack. Blinds are 100/200 in the PS $150 tonight.

MP tightie limps in. Next guy who is relatively tight makes it 900.

I have AQo in the SB.

Sometimes, that's an iso-raise. Other times (I'd say most times), it's a guy who hates playing postflop with jacks or queens.

If your read is that he will both make this raise with AJ and occasionally fold AQ or JJ (yes getting 3:1, they do exist), I think you can push this. I usually don't, though.

id muck, I dont think a push is horrible though.

guessing it folds to you?

I p0000sh

but Im a donk.

How much time is left till the next blind level? and what is your push range in the next round if you fold here?

i think it's a lot closer than most people are making it seem. for one thing, it's not clear from the op that the raiser has been at the table long enough to know that the limper is tight, and there's no way to know that he's paying attention. i wouldn't read a lot into the size of the pfr either - i'd usually make it 4x in that spot, so making it 4.5x is not too meaningful to me.

even a "relatively tight" villain raises AJ almost every time, and usually will raise a number of other hands. it's the possibility of MP or BB having a powerhouse that makes it a fold for me.

I think even a tightie could reraise with a wider range than we're giving credit for. I tried this in PokerStove.

Hand 1: 48.0091 % 42.26% 05.75% { AQo }
Hand 2: 51.9909 % 46.24% 05.75% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+, KQo }

If you're willing to go into a coinflip, call. If the villian's range is tighter, I'd have to fold, I think. If wider, I call a lot of times.

Have you seen tightie limp-fold or limp-call or limp-re-raise before?? You can't be 3 handed here, so are you sure you'll lose tightie with a push? How are the other stacks in relation to yours? Is tightie short enough to take a stand here?? I think you're behind the range here. You need to be first in with a stack this short.
