Hi there curious if anyone has any thoughts on this hand.

3 Handed 6 max table.

AA dealt LP to myself,

EP calls .25, MP calls .25

I raise to 1.50.

Both call.

I am first to go on the flop, it comes

2 5 7 two spades one club.

I check, player betts .25 other calls i raise to 2.00.

He re-raises to 10.00.

I think about it, but guessing this is automatic push.

What do you think?

Lead the flop, for $4. Since you showed so little strength on the flop, I imagine villain's range is fairly wide. I'm happy to get all-in on this flop.

I'm confused. Were six players dealt cards? How do you go first on the flop in LP against EP and MP? And if you were first on the flop, why don't you bet out after raising pre-flop? You can't give away free cards on a board with draws. Stack sizes?

If you are going to c/r this flop make it to $8. Push over his bet.

1) do you have any reads? what are the stack sizes? This would be helpful.
2) check raise is a terrible idea on this two to a flush board. lead for $4. furthermore, your check raise was weak. it should have been to $3.5 at the very least.
3) beat him into the pot putting all of your chips there. if he has a set, he played it poorly IMO in a three-handed game by not raising. reload and add him to your buddy list. if he's chasing a flush, you're a nice favorite (this is my guess)

Do you have the A /images/graemlins/spade.gif? This would make me push even faster.

P.S. You're not in LP. You're the big blind. this is a big difference. you might act last preflop, but you're first to act in every other betting round.

Wouldn't you having the As increase the chance he is not on a semi bluff flush draw, meaning he is more likely to have you beat?

No, at this level, people will frequently call a raise with Kx suited.

Ya I was in the BB typo there.

It was a 6max table that broke down to 2 handed vs villian then 3 handed when this hand came up.

I check raised the flop because I knew this guy would bet into me, everytime I had checked instead of bet the flop he had bet so I knew he wasnt going to take a free card. Is that not enough reason to check raise ? or should I have bet anyways you think.

Shoo I'd put him on a set. I find that at even Party $25, for reasonable players, they're actually quite weak/tight. But it is a rather large raise...hmm

Red Aces.

I usually play 1/2 and consider myself a decent player ..the worst part of this hand was when he raised to 10 I was like ..he must have 5/7 a set or at worst a flush draw.

Judging by the action and the big raise I just knew I probaly wasnt good here as this guy hadnt shown this kind of strength for a long time..I knew I was beat but just coudnt lay it down !.

He took a lil while to call but finally did with 5/5 for a flopped set.
