View Full Version : What time does Au Bon Pain open?

Evan

I want a muffin but it's too cold out to risk it without being sure. I would optimisticly guess 6:00. Anyone know for sure?

I'm referring to the one on Union Square East in NYC, if that makes a difference.

I can understand the rye bread.

But Au Bon Pain is a homosexual hangout and it's not really close. WTF Evan? Esp. if you're going at 6:00 A.M. so chick-meeting is not a motive.

And WTF AM I DOING AWAKE?

Evan
12-15-2005, 05:21 AM
They make good muffins. I don't know what to tell you.

By the way, are you still trying to convince me that the rye bread is worse than white? Where do you live?

istewart
12-15-2005, 05:21 AM
White is goot.

CAN SOMEONE ANSWER MY QUESTION?

Okay guys, where should I go to get a muffin and juice? Use citysearch or something and come up with a better place. I live on 14th st. between 3rd and 4th, it can't be much further away than Au Bon Pain. Go for it!

Bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese would probably be better.

Evan,

Call your local deli and get one delivered.

What is the muffin quality like from a decent deli? Haven't had one from a deli before.

I'd have to go downstairs anyway because delivery people can't go upstairs in NYU dorms.

Yeah, muffins are good. Just sucks to be hungry again so quickly after eating. Especially if a trip is required to get there.

And speaking of rye bread,

I made a pastrami sandwich today, and I bought this local baked dark rye bread from the polish supermarket. OMG. It was like a bread-gasm.

Results:

Apple & Spice muffin - very good, tastes very fresh
Vanilla frostes/raspberry filled doughnut - Looks good, saving it til after my nap
Nantucket Nectars Orange Mango - My favorite breakfast drink

The lady that was my cashier had a thicker beard than me, that was concerning. Thankfully you pick out your own stuff from the racks at ABP, so she didn't come in contact with my muffin or doughnut.

Good choices on the muffin and doughnut.

I'd choose something fresher than Nantucket Nectars though. I'd go with Tropicana or Odwalla.

Is tropicana fresher than Nantucket? Either way, I really like Nantucket's flavors; it's a breakfast staple for me.

I would have gone with Guava NN because I'm extremely addicted to it, but I think you did well otherwise. Nice pick on the donut.

Edit: also, imo the word "disconcerting" would be a better fit than "concerning" in regard to bearded woman.
