Does anyone know if there is a list like this, http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/rank.php?a=r&n=1 ,
That takes in account inflation?

Who cares?

It should have # of tournament wins/cashs listing instead of $$.

That would be interesting too, but I don't think that the OP:s question deserves a "who cares?". Poker is about winning money, so why wouldn't it be interesting to see who has won the most?

There are lot free online tools for adjusting dollars for inflation. Here's one...

<ul type="square"> Inflation (http://www.cjr.org/tools/inflation/) [/list]

I've done the same type of comparison a few times for golf "money won" lists. Won a couple of bets with them.

I'd worry about this when they start adjusting all-time box office receipts for inflation.

I personally would also like to see this info:

Total Tourney Entry Fees Paid.

Which could then give a "net" of winnings (granted, "net" not taking into account hotels, food, airfare, etc etc).

I think he meant poker is about making correct decisions, but who knows, I would not say making money is not what it is about

As a lot of people qualify for tournaments online via satellites, I don't think it would be accurate if they did do that.

At the end of the day, The Hendon Mob's database doesn't include many results prior to 2000, other than the WSOP and Late Night Poker.

It is a useful tool for the last 5 years though.

These lists are a waste of time, because they don't deduct the buy-ins for all the tournaments (nor could they, because no one knows who is buying in for what). To give one example, Negreanu must have lost at least $200,000 in buy-ins this year alone.

We have lots of data still to put in going back much further, takes time though, and obviously the new results take priority....

The 'adjusted for inflation' idea could certainly be implemented when we have all the historical results in.

Any ideas are always welcome, just drop us a line at pokerdb@thehendonmob.com

Well, this is of course individual. It could be about anything. It would be more interesting discussing with you if you said what was on your mind instead of using sarcastic one-liners like "Who cares?" and "Wrong".

You could for example argue that poker is about making correct decisions... so is hockey. Most people wouldn't put it that way though, they would probably say it is about winning matches.

The US kicks butt on that list. I'm happy.

Well, one it the end goal, one is the method. The end goal for most, almost universally, is the money, though there could be some exceptions.
