so, browsing through some old threads, I decide to give these guys a listen. great stuff. now hear is the freaky part:

I go to their webpage, and I realize that I know two of the guys in the band. The twins, Lee and Tyler Sargent. they grew up near me, and I was friends with their older brother in high school. I remember hearing these guys jam when they were like 14 (I even have a tape I think), and now I stumble upon their 'about to make it big band' in OOT.

seeing the pictures of these guys on that website was a really weird moment.

PS: another random fact: these guys are from the same family as John Singer Sargent.

Obviously not? In my opinion, while there were a lot of really good cd's this year, there weren't any so amazingly good that they are clearly better than everything else.

Hey, anyone got the Detroit Cobras CD "Baby"? I've been listening to a track, "I Wanna Holler (But the Town's Too Small), and it's great. I read the Detroit Cobras as a some kind of neo-cover band but wanted a OOT review before I buy this one. Not even publicly reviewed on Amazon. Maybe last great album from what I agree was a great year.

They're album names. I'm sure you've heard of Nine Inch Nails (With Teeth). You might have heard of DangerDoom if you're an adult swim guy. Get Behind Me Satan is the White Stripes. Arular's been getting a bit of airplay, it was on Entourage. You might have heard of Fugazi (the Evens are a side project of the lead singer). Aside from that, it's pretty easy not to have heard any of them.
