I'm not really sure what to think on this one. I bet fifth because I was looking for a freebie on sixth if I wanted one, but that didn't exactly happen. Is this fold alright or just plain bad?

Good. Pretty easy fold on sixth I think. I'm not sure I would have bet fifth, but I understand what you were thinking.

Would you consider check-folding on 5th? You have basically no shot at the low, and you can easily be behind for the high.

my thinking on fifth was that if I bet *maybe* I can get someone with just a a lone pair to fold since it appears as if I have a made low and that they are drawing to half of the pot. I was also hoping that it would give me a free card on sixth if I wanted one.

I play it the same. Nice hand. Bet on fifth really isn't close, in my opinion.

I agree that the 5th street bet isn't close, it's mandatory.

But I wonder about the fold on 6th. It really depends on what you figure seat two has. If you assume no one can make a low you're barely getting the right odds to see the river. If you think seat two has a made low (and the only starting hand I see him doing that with is (5h6h)Th if he's a reasonable player) then folding is right. Even if you figure one or both have a shot at a low you're right to fold.

4th:Mandatory bet.If you lose a player,it's worth it.If you lose both,good.
You have to bet again, imo. You have a deceptive hand.Your bet could cause either one of them to make a wrong decision.
6th:I believe the fold is correct. They both hang tough on 5th& then hit reasonable cards while you hit a brick. If seat 4 folds here, you're probably in all the way.

i see no reason why you wouldn't bet 5th. 6th i think is a good disiplined fold.

I apologize for being unclear. I meant that you must bet fifth street. Many good things can happen if you bet. Few bad things can happen.

Can someone please expand on why this is such and easy fold?

The raise from seat 2 could be because it was checked around and is taking a stab...or has a low draw along with his 10s??? Aces and 10s could be likely as well...which would suck...

At any rate, I see that they both have quite a few redraws, even if we are ahead here...but neither seemed really proud of there hand at any point...

I tend to call these situations like this down, unless I get sandwiched between raises...

Before ya'll strart drooling and looking for me, I only play at the .50/1 tables... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The difference between a .50/1 and a 10/20 game likely have my perspective all out of whack...I want to learn...

I would've checked on 5th, and called on 6th. I can't see how the 4/images/graemlins/diamond.gif helped seat 2. All of your boat cards are live, why would you lay this down?

Disregard my last post, I'm a [censored]! Didn't see it was H/L Stud.

I think everyone here has done that at least a couple times.

You want to bet 5th because your hand is deceptive,& a bet may cause somebody to make a wrong decision. You want to get a weak low draw out.If seat 2 has 6,2 or 8,6 in the hole, for axample.you want him gone. Also,it gives seat 2 a chance to raise & get rid of seat 4,which would be great.
