how big of a difference will this make?

computer not used for gaming.

computer used mostly for internet and editing video.

for surfing it wont be much of a difference. for video editing it might show a little, your ram would make more of a difference, but it can never hurt to get a faster processor

I honestly dont know if its exactly 24% faster, I looked around but couldnt find any information on the net. But your math makes sense.

Proccessor speed is not going to be a huge factor in browsing the internet or video editing. If the 1.73 chip has the same 2MB Cache and 533MHz FSB I'd make a decision based on cost. If you can get the 1.73 for $100 more or less I'd say that's worth it. If it's more than $120 or so I don't really know if it's worth it.

One other thing to consider is that I believe you were purchasing a laptop. If this is for the laptop I'd just throw down for the 2.13 GHz because you're never going to be able to upgrade or anything and might squeeze out some extra life (an extra 6 months or something has to be worth more than $100).

you will definately want a better computer for editing video.

PS aren't you rich?

apple pretty much seems to be the standard for video/audio.

PSS If you want origional music for your film, I score films. I have just done student works so far but I have done the music for 4 films including one full legnth. PM me and I can send you some of my works.
