Villain is new to table. Within my last three hands I had JJ and opened for a raise hit a set bet pot on a draw heavy flush+straight board.

Looks alright to me. I think JJ pays you off on the end.

Let's correct this; I'm not happy with medicore play.

Optimal is probably raise the flop, bet the turn, value bet the river. Without the Q /images/graemlins/heart.gif I think it's very dangerous to give a free card on the turn. Villain's play looks a lot like a lower overpair.

Raise the flop, bet the turn, bet the river sounds good to me. raise flop, check turn, bet river works too, if you're concerned about the hearts.

With a PFR v. A caller I think I have less concerns about hearts then I would if he limp called. Fire flop, turn and the river is probably your best line, with Flop, checking turn firing river next best.

how is the value river bet?

Since no overs came I think that JJ-88 is calling us here, so the valuebet works. If he had the flush hed probably lead that flop.

Raise the flop. Given your line, I love the river bet.

i've found the most success value-betting like 3/4 of the pot when checked-to on the river. it's gorgeous. here, i've been firing like $18 and reaping a lot of calls.

maybe just a long streak. is 15 better? i dont know, maybe stupid villains think 18 looks more desperate to buy the pot than 15.

I reraise the flop to about the size of the pot and 1/2 pot the turn. Big suited cards play this way as well as a low overpair (if the flop alone is considered).

As played I'm 1/2 potting the turn. River value bet is good. No way did he tries for a river checkraise with a made flush after the turn got checked through.
