I'm just getting used to raising with 99 or trying to isolate. I don't really understand the goal here, but I thought I'd try it and see what happens.

UTG is 62/0/0.8. He's been calling too much post-flop, too. I haven't seen him check-raise any; I think he plays fairly straightforward.

The button is a rock: 14/1/1.4, with 78/69/76 fold %.

We all have about $50.

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/diamond.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $2</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls $2, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG folds.

Flop: ($5.25) 6/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 8/images/graemlins/club.gif, 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero ...</font>

So maybe this is a stupid question, but I felt shaken by the call. Was the preflop raise a good idea? On the flop, should I bet half, 2/3, or pot?

When should I overbet?

PF is fine. I usually bet here, and fold to any further aggression.

I bet pot and slow down after a call. Unless a miracle happens and a 9 comes on the turn.

Raise more pre-flop, to $3. Bet/fold the flop.

bet pot, be very wary of a call or raise. if he calls, check-fold to a big bet, call a small one.
