Villian Limps, I make it 16. Folded to villian, who calls.

2 to flop. (38 in pot)

Flop is [ Ac, 7c, Jd ]

I bet 30. Villian calls.

Turn [4s] 98 in pot.

I set villian all in, basically pot bet and he folds.

Here's the dilemma. Often on that board against an opponent with 100bb stack I check turn, then call decent size bet on river/bet if checked to.
It just seemed natural to bet the turn as he was short, but then I'm thinking I just gave up the chance to get the rest of his stack.

I make two small bets instead. Short stacks are stupid, they don't realize their last 40 will be in the pot on the river anyway. As long as you don't give him pot odds for a flush draw.

If the flush hits, will you fold for 45$ on the river? If not so, you gave him odds on the turn, which again means you lost money compared to setting him allin

edit: he might ofcourse not have the FD, and in that case the two smaller bets is better. So against his range I think I like.

If you bet 50-60 you don't give him odds. But yes this line loses money against a flush draw compared to pushing. Hopefully it wins more against middle pair which is a more likely hand.
