Not worth doing a poll yet, but here are some of my nominations:

static electricity shock
paper cut
wood splinter
mouth burn (pizza, hot coffee etc)
stubbing your toe
ice cream head-ache
sun burn
smashed finger (hammar, etc)
knee bump on the side of a desk
stepping on an electric plug barefooted

Definately sunburn. God I hate that.

Something in the combination of desk chair/carpet/desk at my new job produces a staggering number of these. Like, one every 30 minutes or so.

It turns out that shocking the touchpad on a notebook makes it not work so well for awhile.

I was peeling a grapefruit once, and I accidentally peeled too hard and folded my thumb nail back (thick skin). At the same time, my nail dug into the edible part, and it did what all grapefruits do: squirt. Right up underneath my nail. Hurt like hell for such a ridiculously minor "injury."

Whatever you do, don't walk across furry carpet and lean up against something metal. Static shocks on your johnson are not at all pleasant.

Sunburn - no question. Everything else is relatively quick in duration. Subburn blows for days.

I'd say papercut. But tearing a finger tendon suck pretty hard too.

Speaking of getting shocked, everytime i take off my North Face fleece I am just a walking ball of electricity. Is there anyway for me to like, de-electricize myself without getting a major shock?

And this could be a good poll.

Touch something metal with your elbow or other non-sensitive part of your body. Or hold your keys in your hand and touch something metal with them.

I vote for canker sore. Everything tastes like hurting for a week.

roof of the mouth burns suck cuz food tastes like ass for a couple days

Bad sunburns suck ass, but any sunburn bad enough to actually cause problems, I wouldnt consider a minor injury

Does a limb falling asleep count as an injury? I think the tingly stage is extremely annoying

Papercuts and mouth burns are definitely up there too

Just the other day I was doing laundry at my parents' house and I went to grab the wooden door to my basement and a splinter slipped underneath my nail. I mean it was all the way under there, like almost touching the "white part", so I could see it but it was too far in for me to reach it to pull it out.

[censored]!

It was extremely painful and I had to grab a pair of nailclippers and hack away at my nail until I could get a tiny edge of the splinter exposes and then I grabbed it with a pair of tweezers and yanked it out, probably the worst part of the whole experience.

I wouldn't recommend this one.

When I hit my toes or knee off of something it makes me scream. I hate it more than anything, ever.

I'm used to papercuts as I work in an "office" doing "office things" (not meth).

Paper cut in the corner of your mouth from when you idiotically lick an envelope too clumsy and fast is a big one. Takes a long time to heal because it's right by where all the germs come in and out, and you work it constantly talking, eating, or just having an expression.

Also papercut in the the joint of your forefinger or web of your thumb. Damn thing never heals.

Personal least liked one that doesn't always leave a wound -- good hard bang of shin into a coffee table or similar item. Can send things flying and be dramatically loud. Major nerves there so it really hurts like hell, and can make you really look like a fool. Plus can make you limp a while and continue to look foolish on an extended basis. Also can leave a big bruise that's tender for a long time.

Oh this reminds me of when I used to type dictation. If you think a static shock to different parts of your body is bad, try one going right into your ear canal. Happened sometimes when scooting chair around cubicle while headphones were on. You will do some serious jumping and say OW like you really mean it.

I broke my tailbone once, riding my bike on ice (I'm not a smart man Jenny...). That really sucked. Couldn't sit comfortable for a month...

This may push the boundary of 'minor' injury. Certainly not major though...

Somehow I got a scar or something inside my nose, more like a flap of skin. I'm not a picker, but my finger's been up there pretty much 24/7 the last few days trying to get rid of it.

When I opened this thread I was going to say 'pulled rotator cuff' but I suppose I better change my answer.

I'm going with 'hangover' if it counts. And if it doesn't, then 'paper cut'

In terms of pure annoyance value, you can't beat _really_ badly chapped lips.

How can no one have mentioned a ball aching. Not when you get kicked in the nuts but when they get hit lightly but just enough to make you think it's all okay and then WHAM! it's this dull ache for like 5 minutes. I hate that, also, stubbing your toe in the dark when you can't see, that sucks.

What about a canchor sore (sp?)????

When I get one on the inside of my mouth I know it's gonna be 2 weeks until I can eat certain foods, like ketchup. Man that sucks. Certain things burn when you eat, and you gotta watch out for it. Bad Sunburn may be worse though...

Hi Bigdaddydvo:

This one is easy. If you play a lot of tennis, having a sore elbow that never gets better is the answer. I know from experience.

Best wishes,
mason
