Us, and a lone limper from MP. What's the game plan here? Perfectly understandable to assume the flop has missed villian. Calling, with the purpose of leading on a 'safe looking' turn? Nope. Check-riase the turn? Nope. I guess it might be just as simple as staying in a small pot. One where if we are ahead still on the turn, we stand to a chance of winning at a free showdown. Are there any cards besides the J or 2 that hero check-calls/raises, or leads on the river?

Seeing the flop action, I just assumed hero was preparing to move on the turn.

This one mystifies me. I, too, would make some kind of bet on the turn. Either leading or c/r'ing that silly min-bet is fine with me. The only reason I could imagine playing it this way was if a) I really wanted to see the other guy's cards, or b) I had a read from previous experiences with this guy that the MP limp and weak flop bet suggested a big pair that we could stack if we caught another J or 2.

Most of the time when I see minbets like that it's some idiot on weak draw with absolutely nothing else. I've played this hand like this before. It's so cheap to play along, and villain will often check/minbet on the river too. Looks like he beats a pair of twos here though.

I would fold the flop. No reason to dump any chips with low pair when you don't know where you are at any point in this hand. If you check raise he could call with some type of donk draw and then you have to bet something on the river assuming he misses or worry about having to call a bet. I just fold and not get involved in level 2 with low pair against an unknown opponent.

Why are we trying to define our hand here, in level two, with bottom pair?

You have trash preflop and postflop, give this up asap.

Of course this hand is total crap. I felt like I had the best hand on the flop, but didn't really feel like getting majorly involved, so kind of half hearted it by calling. On the turn....same deal. Im basically just hoping they will stop betting at some point and that I win a small pot.

Other methods of playing are to check raise the flop and hope for a fold. Also you could call and do the same thing to the small turn bet. Meanwhile you could simply fold the flop. I often just fold in such spots, but he made what was a lazy bet to me...it just felt like he had nothing. If he had nothing, you may ask why I didn't raise...and I dunno /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway this hand is obvious crap by me. The key is to at least make your crap hands be hands in which you lose a very small amount with a weakish hand. I mean I lose some EV playing this way in this particular hand, but its minimal.

Anyway I don't really know what to do in these spots....I think a flop raise to 130 is quite justified.
