Just wondering what limits and websites all of you guys play on...maybe there should be something for this in our profiles?

usually .05/.10, but I've been known to take shots at the .25/.50 game if I see favorable conditions

They have .10/.20 games at Stars now, you can experiment with those occasionally if they don't break your budget for farm school.

5/10 6max, a little 10/20 or 5/10 FR here and there

Edit: usually on party, but I play some PR or Action Poker once in a while

12-10-2005, 07:35 AM
Let's see.

0,5/1,00 Full Ring FL
0,5/1,00 6 Max
10+1$ SNG
1-20$ MTT

And I play on almost every site.

I'm just kidding you--I got hammered at 2/4. Same story everytime I move up limits--NOT a knock on your play.

I play from .25/.50 through to 1/2 - generally the lowest limit that will clear the site bonus in a reasonable time ;-)

Currently playing Interpoker, but will play pretty much anywhere and have accounts on most sites!

The OP did not ask whether you play short handed:
http://www.pyramidhillc.vic.edu.au/students/Secondary/year7classification/images/cow.JPG

or full ring:

He asked what limits you play. Please answer the question!

I'm currently digging my way out of a 150BB downswing at 1/2 on Party. I won about 50BB of that back this week!

12-10-2005, 10:30 AM
I play 1/2 on stars because they rake less than many other sites at micro limits, have a good support and their frequent players reward system is not a joke.

IMTheWalrus8

.50/1.00 limit (full and 6-handed), primarily at Party; clearing bonii I'll play UB, Bodog
$50 NL at Party
Lots of NL MTTs at Stars ($5-$10), and a few at Party
$10 - $20 SnGs at Party and Stars when I'm in the mood

I am currently working on my worst game - 6-handed limit and am getting hammered. Sometimes I think I should just give up and play NL and limit full, where my win rate is much better (where I *have* a winrate), but the improvement to my postflop play has been tremendous.

The general plan is to beat 6-handed .50/1.00, and then move up to 1/2 full. BR is way ahead of my skills at this point so it's OK.

3/6 fullring with the occasional foray into 6max, or 20/2 SNGs if I'm in the middle of a downswing and need to blow off some steam. (all Party)

Paradise 1/2 5-max for another 3000 hands or so
Party .50/1 for the occassional multi-table bonus clearing if it coincides with having a light week
Pokerstars .25/.50 Stud/8, but I might jump up to 1/2 in another month or so

I had built up my PokerStars account from $12 to around $300 playing various games, but the last $100 or so of it was from $.25/$.50 limit holdem. Then, about a week and a half ago I got an email from Party Poker that they had deposited a $75 bonus into my account which had been dormant for about 2 years. I checked the balance and sure enough I had about $85 in there (my forgotten $10 from 2 years ago + their bonus). I've been playing the $0.50/$1 full ring limit holdem games on Party and they have been SWEET. I play much higher stakes live, but I have a policy of never, ever, under any circumstances putting additional external funds into my poker bankrolls, and I am keeping my live & online bankrolls separate. So, I will be posting in the micro limits for the forseeable future.

12-10-2005, 12:55 PM
just cleared a pokerroom bonus at 1/2 5-max on a super big upswing. Also $5 S&G's. I have cashed $1K of my bankroll out for vegas. I am looking at 2/4 & 3/6 live. Should be pretty straightforward.

If you're almost exclusively a small stakes player, why do you hang out in the mirco forum? Curious because I've just moved up to the grey area of $1/$2 but find myself coming back to the micro forum to read more than I go to SS.

Bonus whoring on as many sites as I have time to clear.

When whoring usually 1/2 6max but I just started taking stabs at 2/4 FR.

Started with +50BB in my first 466 hands too /images/graemlins/smile.gif

1/2 6-max and I'll bump up to 2/4 FR because I'm becoming more of a gambler and care less about silly things like bankroll management and such. Played 5/10 live a month or so ago and I'm doing it again soon.

Primarily PP and UB.

I knocked off a new account bonus at Pacific, but I only bothered because the games were so soft. Now that the bonus is cleared, I'm done there.

I used to play at Absolute, but the games were ridiculously tight and the bonuses difficult to clear because a lot of hands don't rake.

I opened an account at Pokerroom but when I saw the pace of their bonus clearing I immediately stopped.

I have an account at Pokerstars, but I haven't gotten around to trying to clear the bonus yet.

I pretty much never play anything that could be classified as "micros", but there are some awesome posters that do a lot of posting in this forum. I also prefer to post something here than in SS if it seems unusually newbish for me.

2/4 full. For the entire month of December. Either Party, or Stars. I will re evaluate in Jan. if a move is in order, up /images/graemlins/grin.gif or down /images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Currently I'm playing off bonuses at UB and FT. FT really sux at anything below 1/2 for clearing & pretty much sucks there, but there seem to be a lot of LAGs there that go to war & drive up the avg pot size.

I cleared the Paradise bonus in 2-3 sessions at 1/2.

You might want to check out the Brick & Mortar forum. A while back I posted the question 3/6 online = 3/6 B&M? and the consensus was No, 3/6 online is more like 15/30 B&M if you have the bankroll. I'd be curious as to your experience. I'm planning a trip to Vegas in January.

that is true. I just have minimal experience with live games, and am a big wuss as such. Also a bit crutchy from PT/GT+. Deciding whether to get Caro's book.

I think this is pretty true. When I played 3/6 online I would play 9-18 to 15/30 live.

12-15-2005, 06:38 PM
My first Live game was 4/8 at the commerce.

It didn't compare to ANY limit I've ever played online. I started online at .5/1 and currently play 2/4. When playing live, I found it hard to keep track of the pot, usually I just look at the number next to where it says POT: , but unfortunately live tables don't have that stat.

I didn't matter much though, the pots were so huge I almost always had proper odds. 7 to the flop, wasn't rare, even when it was 3-bet or capped.

I can't wait to go back.

12-15-2005, 08:31 PM
I play mostly .5/1 on PokerRoom.com. Sometimes 1/2.

I'm in the same boat, I been at 2/4 or higher as my main game sine mid-May, when I was learning the little bit about poker that I do know, a large portion of that came from players who posted here, but played higher. Most of those posters have moved to other forums and don't frequent micros much at all.

I figure if I can help some people in the same way its a good thing, whether or not anyone learns anything from me I'm not sure

I play 3/6 and 5/10 mainly, though 5/10 has been unfriendly so far, I do make occasional stops at 2/4 and 1/2, and still play a fair bit of .5/1 2+2games(though not as much as I did in May/June when I got killed but learned a ton)

I didn't learn much from the 2+2 lagfests except to always bluff 3 bet the turn on a scary board /images/graemlins/grin.gif.

i play 2/4 now mainly, and am trying to move to 3/6+ permanently. it would help if luck would be on my side and a player who bets and 3-bets 66 against my 88 on a 2275 turn after preflop gets capped 6 ways and the the flop checks through would not river a 6 against me. it would also help if when i flopped a set with TT on a TK7 board that the guy who donked AJ on an 8 turn would not river a Q. also would help if when i flopped the T high flush the big blind did not have J2 of the same suit. also maybe when i raise aces in the small blind versus the big blind that he would not flop two pair and resexy my turn sexy and i would spew and cap and bet the river. also maybe i would not river top two pair that also completes a straight draw if j00 know what i am saying that would be great. wine, glenfiddich, sam adams winter lager and guiness extra stout ladies.

I like the occasional lagfest, but I would much rather play a serious game, and I played about 2k hands of serious 2+2games over those 2months, they happened very frequent, I must have started a dozen myself. The nicest thing was the games were full of players better than me, I lost a lot of BB's but it really improved my play. Its unfortunate that players like Entity make to much money to still be able to play .5/1 seriously(though I'm happy to see players like Entity killing games for lots of dough).

I do get the occasional I'm going to 3bet for the hell of it at the games now, but for the most part I still play Agame at the tables, hopefully I'll be able to say the same a yr from now, I'll always be partial to micros

dood you should have played the recent ssshuhuhuhush (or whatever) 0.5/1 game - it was pretty serious and pete harris, jba, kdawg, aaron_w, and others played there. i mean i ran like 47/32 somehow but i was still playing seriously /images/graemlins/confused.gif.
