View Full Version : Ann Coulter Shouted Down by "Nazis" at University of Connecticut

Bill O'Reilly went on call these "left-wing zealots" nazis. Funny how those on the right get offended when Bush is compared to Hitler. Invading third-world countries is more in line with acting like a Nazi than simply shouting "You suck" at someone. In fact O'Reilly's gross over-reaction is more in line with acting like a Nazi.

Ann Coulter has absolutely no class and is blatently rude to people, and O'Reilly is outraged when students don't treat her respect. Bill, I'll give you a hint why they don't treat her with respect, because she doesn't deserve it.

If you aren't prepared to give her the common decency of allowing an invited speaker to speak, don't invite her in the first place. It's childish an immature to try to shout her down when she was an invited speaker.

I detest Ann Coulter, and I agree that calling the people that shouted her down "Nazis" is out of line, but I think the behavior of the people that shouted her down is inexcusable. It's perfectly reasonable to boycott her speeces, or picket them if you don't like her views, but disrupting her speaking engagement to try to deny her her right to express her views is rude and childish.

I wonder how many people she's slept with. I'd wager triple digits.

Oh and as for the OP, two wrongs don't make a right. Let the sheeple listen to her drivel in peace.

It's funny because they give her more publicity now than if they didn't do anything at all. Is there any news story if 15 people show up to see her? I've never understood why people make such a big deal out of someone speaking. Whenever the KKK comes to town (no way comparing them to Ann Coulter), you get 1500 protestors, and a news story.

And I agree, the best thing you can do to someone who disagrees with you is to let them speak and make a fool of themselves. Oh wait, because you don't trust people to have the ability of making up their own mind.

Couldn't have said it better. Personally, I'm glad she's one of the more prominent voices on her side of the fence. I believe she loses more and more credibility everytime she speaks.

I like Ann Coulter. Her vitriolic hated of the left makes me want to do things to her she would probably enjoy very much.

Me too, but I think I'd enjoy them more than she.

Does she really just have an externally observable trachea due to malnourishment, or is that really an adam's apple? You might not like it.

She's fellated enough metaphorically, I'm not sure we need to step into literal territory.

My school (LMU in los angeles) invited her to speak this January. The article in our paper explicitly said she was being invited because she was "controversial". Thats kind of pathetic. They are trying to get The ragin cajun to talk to her. bias much, LMU?

Wouldnt surprise me. She gets around a lot. According to some of her coworkers at the law firm she used to work out, she had a reputation for not wearing underwear.

Yeah, heckling is alright.

Preventing the guy (or gal) from speaking is not. It just provides them with that much more (and usually undeserved) publicity, if not sympathy. But heckling the hell outta the speaker is alright.

No, it isn't.

It's a low form of activity, engaged in by inferior-minded and incredibly rude and inconsiderate persons. Persons who were obviously raised in a barn, or in the hills or backwoods in an inbred colony, or something like that.

It's NOT alright to be a complete jerk. A person may have the "right" to be a total jerk, but that doesn't make it "alright."

I was there at the speech and to be fair they let her speak for about 15 minutes before she started bashing homosexuals and calling liberals stupid in 20 different ways, i wasn't one that did start booing but i understand those that did, they gave her a chance and she confirmed everything bad taht was said about her. all she did was one liners about liberals ( which were funny actually) and bashing certain groups. When it was Q and A it was hilarous how good at not answering questions she is. It was pretty funny and worth the 16k.

I've encountered such persons fairly often in my life; and you probably have too. A goodly number of them can be found at the poker tables, although they usually represent the citified versions of the same.

Uncouth, loud, obnoxious people, obviously raised in barns or the equivalent, possessing not the slightest degree of respect for others; the sort of person who would heckle a speaker, or casually elbow you out of the way to get in the buffet line ahead of you. You know the type well, Cyrus, I'm sure. Why, then, defend them, or their inconsiderate and lowbrow actions?

No, I'm saying that's the stupidest post I've read in a long time. It's like you've got some scoop on her "pssst, according to my sources --- sometimes..." and then the big scoop is "she doesn't wear underwear." But it's not even that good...all your sources know is that she has a "reputation" for not wearing underwear.

You're like the Woodword and Bernstein of lingerie.

So stupid.

[/ QUOTE ] Easy, now. A little political heckling never hurt anybody. It helps pierce the phony veil of superiority worn by politicians of every persuasion.

Of course, it is not always done well. For a mixture of downright beastliness with artful heckling one needs to turn to the British Parliament.

I used the word reputation in the original post to mean that everyone knew that she didnt wear underwear (ie shes a ho), but that there was some doubt over whether or not she wore underwear. It's not that intertesting, but if that is the stupidest thing you have read on here in a while you are lucky.

Please. There isn't a man alive that could listen to her mouth long enough to make it until the end of the date to hit that.

On second thought, no don't do that, Ann's gross looking.

You folks realize that these "Nazis" paid for the privilege of heckling Coulter. Likewise, Coulter was able to dab away her tears with the $16K she was paid.

Just another night at the circus, if you ask me.

You argument makes no sense, because the people who heckled her are SURELY not the same people who invited her to speak.

The reasons it was wrong are that what they did was immature, impolite, and counterproductive. They should have spent their energy focused on inviting a speaker to campus that they felt better reflected their views or better added to civilized debate.

There was a similar incident at my campus involving David Horowitz, another person who has managed to profit nicely from baiting college students into making him look like a victim.
