View Full Version : ($11) TP bad kicker on moderately drawish board

Sorry if this is standard, but I'm trying to figure out how to avoid playing weak while also not bleeding away my stack. Where should I get away from this hand, if anywhere?

I would check the river in case he hit a straight, then you could decide whether to call or not. Right now though, I think you have him beat.. Why wouldn't he reraise the river?

Your turn and river bets are too small. Looks OK though. I think that river is a mandatory bet. Checking the turn might be better.. I dunno /images/graemlins/confused.gif

Personally, I would bet more on the turn and river. Maybe around 200-225 on the river or so. 125 isn't even enough for a value bet here. Anyways, even if villain had QT, KT, or AT, you were behind before but ahead now. He is calling with any ten, and if is a donk has been calling down with a pair of 9s.

Dangit, why did you post that he called the river.

Ack! Edit it. You won't get very good discussion that way.

And mgross, that is very, very weak. How do you check on the river with top two pair and only a 3-straight on the board? At an $11! On level 1! Never.

I'd probably fire on the turn again also. Line looks fine but slightly larger bets on turn and river, maybe 90 and 165.

At an $11, you can bet less on the flop and get the same effect, 25 would be fine, I would check/call the turn except to a severe overbet. I think your river bet was fine.

How could you guys possibly check through on the turn? Are you scared of the 3?!

Sure, you could fold to a raise, but checking on this turn is a sin....or -EV.
