View Full Version : 1010 3-way vs a reraise preflop....how's my line here?

Just wondering how my play was throughout this hand. I thought I did okay, but me thinking that I did okay doesn't mean squat.

2/4, somewhat loose table
Hero with 1010 in MP3
Villain in Cutoff running 19/12/.75

All fold to MP2 who calls, Hero raises, Villain 3 bets, MP2 calls, Hero calls

Flop: 5 of Diamonds, 4 of Spades, 8 of Diamonds

MP2 checks, Hero bets, Villain raises, MP2 calls, Hero 3 bets, Villain calls, MP2 calls

Turn: Jack of Hearts

MP2 checks, Hero bets, Villain calls, MP2 calls

River: King of Hearts

MP2 checks, Hero checks, Villain checks

So how was my play? Also, if Villain bets this river, do I fold or call here?

I'd cap preflop. I like the flop and turn. I'm tempted to bet the river. If this postflop-passive Villain raised me, however, I might want to fold.

Thanks for the response...btw, villain shows QQ

I changed my mind...I don't think I'd try betting the river, and I do think I'd fold if Villain bet. As for Villain...wow, super passive.

Alright, now you're just messing with me.

I'd fold, at this point anything that 3-bets preflop beats you. Villain is pretty passive postflop, so I'd have to assume he's got you beat on the flop. I'd probably just call the flop and try to donk the turn. If I am raised I am folding.

I like this better. He's pretty aggressive preflop considering his VPIP, but not extraordinarily so. So what's his reasonable 3 betting range? TT-AA, AK? TT's probably out and so is AK, as he wouldn't play the flop that way given his passive nature. I suspect someone even as passive as he is would have capped you on the flop with AA. But that still leaves JJ-KK.
