New Messages being Cleared

Whenever I close the browser window that I'm surfing 2+2 in, all the messages in the forum I'm browsing get marked as read. This is quite annoying, as you may imagine. Can I prevent this from happening somehow?

This has been posted many times before, and the admins are aware of it. I beleive this is one of the reasons Chuck said he is looking for new software.

What I do is never close the broweser window. What works sometimes is logging off before you close the window.
