Mon 14 9:00 PM (and 11:00 PM) Going for Broke LIFE
"The latest on-screen pairing of real-life wife and husband Delta Burke and Gerald McRaney is a cautionary tale about the high cost of gambling.
The fact-based 2003 cable drama casts them as a newly married couple whose relationship becomes one of the many things sacrificed to support a severe addiction to slot machines. Burke's character transforms from a take-charge kind of woman into one overpowered by the lure of a casino's flashing lights and ringing bells. While she tells her family, which includes two kids from a previous relationship, that "it's all under control," the reality is that rising debts from her nasty habit have led her to embezzle money from a children's charity"

Tue 15 9:00 PM Playing to Win 36 LIFE
"A naive, trusting 17-year-old (Lisa Dean Ryan) falls for a duplicitious, preppy 20-year-old, whose compulsive---and self-destructive---gambling habits she begins to adopt. "

You just *know* that one's going to have lots of high-level poker content. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/wink.gif /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Hmm. You're limiting it to males and females, eh? Well, that counts me out.

Yes, I get the "and such" part, just giving you a hard time. Actually, I appreciate your efforts to keep us informed.

Because we all know that looking to the Lifetime channel for your hard-core poker content is like picking up the Sears Roebuck catalog when you're desperate for some pornography.

Again, I couldn't resist. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Is Lucky canceled? Done for the season??

Byrn

according to FX website. That stinks it was the one episode that didn't tape for me (did it start at 10:30?). Oh well I am sure they will rerun them all this summer if the show is coming back..

Hmm well my preliminary research shows that Lucky will not be renewed after this season (which is finished). That was the information on the Lucky message board anyway, and we all know how unreliable message boards can be.

I hadn't watched the last few weeks, only taped them - so I may be missing information everyone knows.

and wouldn't trust rumors until it gets closer to renewal time.
Guess we'll see.

Well supposedly it was one of the creators of the show posting on the FX message board, but who actually knows the reliability of that poster... I didn't see any reference to it being canceled in my internet searches - usually this kind of thing shows up in the news somewhere.

I thought the show was doing well considering the expectations couldn't have been THAT high....
