played limit successfully 1 year.

played mtt last 5 days or something (lol, i already sound like a donk.)

just qualified for 75k guarenteed rebuy+addon at paradise.

Play it or cash the ticket? I'd prob. not want to rebuy. If i play it, prob. going to play very tight.

suggestions? strategies for if i play it? thx in advance.

currently, top 10 get 1k+, which looks sweeeeeeet *daydreaming*

If your planning on playing a rebuy tourny without taking any rebuys, cash the ticket.

Rebuy tournaments tend to play very loose-agressive during the rebuy period. You have to expect a lot of varience during this period (even if you play tight, the other players will chase draws and occasionally hit them). You need to go in with the expectation of taking a rebuy at the very beginning (if the tourny is structured that way) and probably rebuy after one bust out. While this early action is fast and loose, it's pretty good to take advantage of it.....this means lowering your starting requirements and splashing around a bit. This has been my experience....others choose the more conservative approach which allow less investment but also lowers the number of eventual cashes.

Do not play it, take the cash.

Unless of course you wish to play it with rebuys.

You know, i'm sure since this is the consensus that it is the correct answer.

I'd also guess it has to do with EV.

But like we are taught at 2+2, the why is always more interesting than the answer itself...

it is really only a slight EV loss not to take the rebuy/add-on. On stars, the rebuy/add-on are not juiced. Also, the add-on is for more chips than the buy-in, but costs the same.

However, to play without the rebuy/add-on is like playing a field 3X as big as it really is, cuz they got 3x the chips. but, yeah, only a small EV cost. Very small. But no add-on is slightly bigger ev cost.

I'd go ahead and play it to get the experience. People really donk it up in the early rounds of the rebuy, so you should have a big edge, though you might go broke but so what. Like someone said below I don't think not rebuying really hurts your EV that much as long as the chips cost the same.
