Snoop and JT - Signs

Perhaps! It's pretty hard to choose.

Yours?

Yeti

I expect Hey Ya to be a very popular choice.

I just checked the year and would like to change my vote to *NSYNC - Bye Bye Bye.

Thanks.

it's probably close, but..

Sufjan Stevens - The Zombie Bumblebees of Chicago Steal Casimir Pulaski

and it's not even close.

Either "Float On" by Modest Mouse, or "J'en ai Marre" as performed by Alizee.

Soul Daddy

Britney - Toxic
or
Hanson - If Only

Yeah, 'cause this is definitely "pop" music.

More great choices. I am just unsure about the longevity of these; I haven't touched The Killers album in months. Only time will tell if they can match Bye Bye Bye.

It's a joke intended to separate the trendy hipsters from everyone else.

I think Hey Ya is a good choice. Breakaway I would say is possibly the best pop record I have heard in 5 years, but not one particular song.

Duffman
12-07-2005, 05:37 PM
Justin Timberlake - Cry Me a River

50 Cent - In the Club - though not necessarily pop it's the most overplayed song in recent memory.

Not sure on popularity, it's my fave although they have a handful of great songs.

The chick in their videos is hot, too.

Landon_McFly

Anything by...

Nelly
50 Cent
Jay-Z
Eminem
N*Sync
Backstreet Boys
Britney Spears
Usher
Destiny's Child

Those artists absolutely CRUSH the competition.

POP music is called POP because it's POPULAR.

Oh... wait... wait... I bet you could search for the most "popular singles of the last 5 years" on the internet if you wanted to.

Whichever sold the most will obviously be the most popular, so there ya go.

PM me if you're still confused.
Oh wait, nevermind, don't do that.

Fallout Boy - Sugar We're Going Down

It's played on all but one rock station I listen to (I heard it on WAAF once) and all the pop stations, give credit to a song that can play on non-pop stations. I'd also vote "Harder To Breathe" by Maroon 5.

I agree that Hey Ya, Crazy in Love and In Da Club are all towards the top of this list. Others that weren't mentioned might include

Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl
Nickelback - Someday
Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love
Eminem - Real Slim Shady (maybe Stan)

I don't really think any of these really count as pop song, at least post 2000 contempory pop other than the Black Eyed Peas
