Having just discovered how much FF kicks IE's ass, I'm now discovering the wonders of so-called "extensions". Only problem is there seems to be thousands of them, so I'd just like to ask what some of your favorite/most useful ones are.
(I didn't want to post this in the computer tech forum, because that place is a ghost-town).

search for astro's thread. It's quite awesome.

The ones that work, which for me is none of them right now.

okay, i'm gonna do a mini-hijack and ask why my firefox is so damn slow? i downloaded it and started using it for a while because everyone here constantly raves about it, but i *hate* the fact that it takes 4 times as long as IE to open. are there some settings i should change or something?

What you're experiencing is Microsoft's ability to leverage the Windows OS. Since IE is so tightly integrated into the OS, it's in memory constantly. Hence it opens very quickly.

You're stuck.

if you happen to kill time with computer (boring job, travel) i recommend "stumble upon" extension.

it takes you randomly on web sites that other internet users found interesting and added to that extension data base. you can profile your range of interests and rate sites that you visit with SU.

you can really hit odd and funny stuff you would never come across otherwise.

Astro set is pretty solid. I think he is updating for the new version though, so you might want to wait before installing.

Read this thread:

If you have TOO many extensions, firefox starts to slow down a bunch. Also the NEW firefox (v1.5) fixed some memory leaks, so make sure you have that edition too.

Can anyone help me out here? I've installed the new version of firefox but my extensions won't update. I click "update now" and nothing happens. Then when I exit firefox it asks if I want to cancel downloads.
