Playing 2/4 NL on Party. Have been at table for about half an hour. Have shown down one hand for win, and taken some decent pots with a bet. Villian nothing out of control, I probably have not been paying enough attention to the table, playing other tables as well.

I have $450 and cover Villian

Hero in big blind and dealt: Q /images/graemlins/club.gif9 /images/graemlins/club.gif

One limper, villian completes, I check.

Flop 10 /images/graemlins/diamond.gifQ /images/graemlins/diamond.gifQ /images/graemlins/heart.gif

Villian bets $10, I call, limper folds.

Turn: 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif Villian bets $30

I am 95% sure he has a Q, hopefully a smaller one and has not filled up yet. What should I raise here and if he pushes turn, is this an easy call?

Raise the flop.

As played, just call turn and reevaluate on the river.

I wouldn't raise at all if I didn't know what I was going to do if he pushed. How can you be so sure he has a queen but so unsure of what a push means?

I just have a strong feeling he has a Q, what else comes out betting like this in the small blind with no pre-flop raise. I dont think he is trying to steal the pot either. He could have a monster draw. So no raise on turn, I dont like raise on flop.

Why not?

It allows weaker Q's to get off their hand later on and stronger ones to suck me in for a large chunk of change.

Really? If he 3-bet you can fold. If he fold a draw its fine for you. If he just call you can check behind on the turn.

I see what you are saying, but based on this hand do you raise turn or just call.

I just call (see my first reply).

Oh yeah, sorry. Ok I raised to 60, dumb minraise I know. he called.
River was a offsuit 4. What do you bet here and why? I know if I was going to raise turn I should have made it 90, but i didnt

Disagree weaker Q's fold to a flop raise or turn raise. You have position use it.

Bet river, 1/2 pot $75, fold to a push.

1/3-1/2 pot or so and fold to a push. Nothing very wrong to just check behind either.

By not raising flop you are letting him take the control of the hand, how are so sure he has a Q, and if so it's better than yours? I think the best line is using your position putting pressure on your opponent to make a decision and help you gain info on the strenght of his hand. Your line is passive.

Romaine, if you were check raised on turn, would you lay down?

Depends on the amount of the CR and my read/past encounters with villian. IF he CR my stack, it is really tough decision, probably fold and live to fight another day.

So you think your opponent is limping with the hand like Q6 from the small blind, but at the same time is capable of letting it go, when flopping trip queens. I have yet to meet someone like that...

Actually, I think a 10 does with a lot of villians. In fact, a lot of Queens try to slow play this (even with such a dinky pot - weird).

A decent Villian probably bets this out, especially if he suspects that you don't believe him.

What worse queens is villian limping with?

If this read is indeed accurate, this looks like an easy fold.
