In a home tourney Saturday the following happened to me. Dealt pocket Jacks UTG, I call call the BB. There was no preflop raise with 3 players in the hand. The flop is 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif . I come out with a $400 bet. Player to my left calls as does BB. Turn is a 10 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif, I check, hoping for someone bet with A9 or A10... Checks around the table. River is a 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif. I bet again 400, and again I get called from both players. I show my pocket jacks, player to my left shows A9 as I predicted, what does the BB roll over to beat me?

Preflop was a mistake, but fish make mistakes.
He was actually ahead of everyone but you on the flop, but you didnt raise PF either, so he didnt know he was way behind.
The turn gave him the best hand. Fish usually check this and try to come over the top later with it.
You figure you are safe and bet again. His plan is foiled when the the other guy stays in the hand and the board makes a straight possible.
or
He only called to keep you both in the pot.
and lets not forget, lets not forget...

This is a really dumb post. Thanks for putting it in two forums in case I missed it. You shouldn't be playing in $100 buy-in games if you are this bad at poker.

This is a dumb post too, who says you can't learn to play starting at NL$100 if you have the bankroll for it?
