Villian (SB) was 32/10 over 100 hands or so. He seemed solid and had not gotten out of line, but 100 hands....

Empire Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx (http://www.zerodivide.cx/converter)

BB ($19.66)
UTG ($47.57)
MP ($44.15)
CO ($69.30)
Hero ($44.40)
SB ($64.65)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
UTG calls $0.50, 2 folds, Hero raises to $2.5, SB (poster) calls $2.25, 1 fold, UTG calls $2.

Flop: ($8) 5/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 8/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 7/images/graemlins/club.gif (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $7, SB raises to $30, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $45

I had made a horrible call (push really) on the turn with AA, and I think this was in reaction to that. How bad is it really? Is there any merit to it at all?

Without a read I would say this is a good fold.

i would push here, he may have put you on missed high cards and just making a std c/b. i think you are in front.

I said both of those things to myself when reviewing the hand, good fold, and I really could be ahead here, and I'm still not sure which is right. Any more input or reasoning?

thanks

What beats you?

AA? Should be a re-raise from SB pf.

88/77/55? horrible overbet here.

6-4 or 6-9? wtf is he calling your position raise with garbage for AND he overbet the made str8.

This feels like a c/b to me, or even QQ-TT

Push AI.

I think this sums it up and I'm leaning towards pushing now, but people just do weird [censored], so those overbets could be a reality.

He ended up showing JJ so I should of just pushed. Maybe next time...

Thanks for all the help

I am assuming that this happened somewhat recently (last 20 hands or so) and on this same table.

Imagine that I'm villain and I saw this mistake. Now, I've just managed to flop a set. Since I've already seen you call a large bet with just an overpair, I'm thinking you'll maybe do the same thing here. And if you fold, I still get the money, just less of it.

All said, I think your fold is good.

P.S. Villain's raise isn't really that much of an overbet: $8 pot + $7 from you + $7 to call = 22, so the $30 bet is only 8 bucks extra...not quite 150% PSB. Yes an overbet, but not exactly a monsterous bet. (What I'm wondering is, since this raise leaves villain with ~$10 behind, why he didn't just push it all in heh.)
