How long do you have to play poker and write about poker before understanding that "Kings over Twos" means KKK22?

Okay, I'll concede that it's common enough in poker term glossaries to be acceptable as two pair. It's either redundant or ambiguous though, depending on whether you can read the person's mind using it. If you're referring to 2 pair, there's no need to state which rank is higher whereas with a boat it makes a big difference to know which rank is full.

I would ban its use when referring to 2 pair if I could. I'd also kick people who called trips with a pair on the board a set in the shins, but they outnumber me by too many.

Rant over. This thread can die now.

I agree with you that all sets are trips but not all trips are sets, but I don't agree with you that Kings over Twos isn't an acceptable way to say two pair, kings-up, or anything of the sort.

Kings FULL of Twos is what I shouldn't -- and didn't -- call it.

Regardless, this is another example -- much like last month where someone was confused by the term "posting" a blind -- where less jargon should be used by all people writing about anything, as you want the work to be as accessible as possible.

i agree w/ BVT that kings over is acceptable terminology for two pair, but i also feel that all sets are trips and all trips are sets.

On Pacific Poker they would use the term Kings over Twos to mean a full house.

I have always understood Kings over twos as two pair, and feel that one must use the word "full" somewhere in order to constitute they have a fullhouse. Rather Kings Full. Kings Full of Twos. Kings over two FULL house. Kings over two's is two pair IMO.

I hate when people how have A and the board says AA854 and they say set of aces. Hate hate hate hate hate it!

Is this where I get to vent about Doyle referring to the "flop"
as the "turn" infinity times in SS?

Kings up makes everything so much easier, although it isn't as specific.
