I recently moved out to LA and left behind a good 10/20 game in New York. Trying to figure out where the best place for me to play out here is. Is 10/20 HE spread regularly anywhere? I think my bankroll is more appropriate for the 10 game than the 15. If a regular 10 game is spread, is it raked or is there a time collection? Either way, what is the collection?

If there's no 10 game around, where's the best place to play 15?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The Commerce has a raked 9-18 game and a time collection 15-30 game. I strongly reccomend you check these games out if you haven't already.

The Bicycle has a 10-20 game that is raked ($3). In my experience, this game has never been good, but it can be great at times, apparently. The Bicycle also has a couple 8-16 games that can be LOONY at times. These are raked ($4).

Hollywood Park has a 10-20 game but it tends to go during the day only. The last few times I've been there (I tend to get to the card room at 11 P.M. or so) it hasn't been going. You pay time ($5 every half hour).

Commerce has eight of nine 9-18 games. As with the Bike 8-16 game, you will often find LUNATICS here. These games are raked (I think $4? Whatever it is, I remember feeling that Commerce was ripping us off).

Hustler has a 9-18 game that rarely goes. I can't remember the last time I saw it going.

The Bike has one 20-40 game that usually goes all night. Commerce has a couple 15s and maybe four 20s. The last time I was there, Hollywood Park had two 15s and three 20s. Hustler has one 15 and one 25-50.

These are actually the two games in town I have played. I feel like the rake is pretty bad for anything 9/18 and below...$6/hand even if there's no flop? As I said in my post, the 15/30 is a bit above my bankroll, but it looks like that's what I'm going to have to go with as there's not much 10/20 around.

Thanks.

I feel like the Commerce 9/18 game is a ripoff too. I guess they can charge a higher rake since they're the place to be. Thanks for your help with the other rooms. Maybe I will try to track down that 10/20 @ Hollywood. I bet they spread it on the weekends.

The Bike 8/16 and 6/12 holdem games have a modified drop of $1 on no flop with no jackpot drop on no flop. I'm fighting to make it even lower (I work at the Bike).

The Bike's 10/20 has a very fair collection if you want to play just a bit higher.
