The ending of the episode that just aired had me in tears. Discuss.

Huge fan.

In the history of Arrested Development...and I've seen every episode dozens of times...I don't think I ever laughed so hard as when Tobias was screaming "Why won't I go underwater" when lit on fire tonight. That is an absolute classic.

Overall, tonights episode, meh, B+ The Rita subplot was fairly entertaining, but I'm looking forward to it going back to normal (If there is such a thing)

Tonight's episode was great, as usual.

i'm ecstatic

i haven't watched the show, but i hate the way in which its fans try to get people to watch it. i would rather be harassed by teenagers to watch dawson's creek, i swear to god.

If you started watching it you'd probably become one of the fanboys who try to spread the word.

...seriously, go watch it.

Your happy that a show you've never watch is gonig off the air. Okay.

There's a reason why people have tried to get you to watch it. OoTers at that too. OoTers can't be wrong!

Arrested Development is one of the only shows on TV that is actually laugh-out-loud funny. I'd put it in the top ten all-time for sitcoms.

[censored] I completely forgot about it tonight. Was studying for finals and watching the MNF blowout. This makes me a horrible person, huh?

I downloaded season 1 of AD in march or april because of the voices in OOT saying how great it was. I watched the first 5 episodes and it did nothing for me. Was the first season much worse than the rest of the show?

The show naturally gets funnier as it progresses due to character development and recurring jokes, but the first five episodes were gold. If you didn't like those, then don't bother with the rest of them.

Try downloading a season or nine of Everybody Loves Raymond.

I just don't understand how a show this good can get pulled after 3 seasons.

Arrested Development is/was funny. Much, much, funnier than Fox's new sitcom War at Home. Would be nice to have Arrested sandwiched between Simpsons and Family Guy, which I think was where it was the 1st season.

i can assure you that i get more enjoyment out of telling its annoying fans that i haven't and won't watch the show than i would out of actually watching it

I have to admit...I have not watched more than 10 minutes of this show before last night. But this was really excellent. I literally fell out of my couch laughing at this last line.

If someone else posted this, you would respond "oh man, you are so cool for not liking things other people do and posting so everyone knows about it".

no i wouldn't. it's not remotely the same thing. it has nothing to do with how popular or unpopular the show is, it's the specific way in which its fans try to endorse it.

i haven't watched the show, so it's not a matter of 'not liking it', and i'm not doing it to spite its popularity.

Bro you are 100% correct on this one. I watched one episode and it was LAME!

12-06-2005, 03:22 PM
As one of the "annoying" advocates of the show I'll agree, picking up and watchign one episode could have you scratching your head as to why the person next to you is laughing so hard at the old lady dancing like a chicken. Fact of the matter is it's a show that's good enough to stay on the air. Yes some people will hate it. Someone hates every show, someone loves every show. But it's won a bunch of Emmy's and has an extremely loyal fan following. If this show was given the opportunity American Dad (god awful show IMO) was to follow something great like Family Guy it would have huge ratings. Sadly at this point FOX isn't marketing it and it struggles to pick up new viewers this late in the game. I will miss the show a lot. Sign my boycott FOX petition if you want, and yes I know it's not going to help anything.

If your friend annoyingly urged you to go upstairs because he got you the hottest/cleanest escort money could buy, would you not go because your were annoyed by his methods?

Its a great show if you watch it in order...The only reason people want others to watch it is because; 1. maybe they like seeing other people laugh (horrible, I agree) and 2. it helps them not lose a show they love.

That's okay, you gave it a shot big fella. Now you can go back to watching "Stacked" and "Ultimate Makeover" with a clear conscience.

i would obviously only take the concept so far, but i'm sure i enjoy self-harming spite much more than others. in the case of a television show, i don't feel like my life could really be that improved by it that i would really be genuinely missing out. so it's not really self-harming in my book.

Our lives are not improved by much on TV for that matter. If you don't like TV, then fair enough. I don't think of myself as some elitist TV guru who knows whats good for others, but, honestly, laughing that hard feels good.

I understand though...Im sure religion would be good for me yet I would still never try it.

i would put six feet under up as a show that was worth much more than the time investment it took to watch it. there are some out there.

The first two seasons, yes. Carnivale was another one (though it took me awhile to be convinced).

But on network, this is a rare thing. AD belongs somewhere else if not on Fox.

Agreed I think that Arrested Development would do extrememly well on HBO slotted by Curb you Entusiam. Both are very smart comedy.

Astro: If you liked Seinfield or like CYE you are doing yourself a great disservice by not at least watching the first two seasons of Arrested Development.

I watched season one recently courtesy of Netflix, and while it was funny, it didn't approach 'hilarious' for me. I think I may have been put off by how ludicrous the charcters were - you can find more beleivable family units in most animated series.

This show take a couple viewings to start clicking. But once it does, it rivals any sitcom in hilarity. Fans of this show push it alot cause its great, and so many ppl dont give it a chance. I have told a few ppl to watch it,most of em too lazy to find out when its on.
