This is a 2-5 NL live game with buy-ins of $500 or more. Involved in this hand is an old guy who dosent care about losing money and has lost about 1200 in 5 minutes, showing bluffs and second pairs as he is called down. I have about $700 to start I cover him.

He raises to 35, which he has started to do just about every other hand. 2 callers and to me on the button. I call with Ak ofsuit.

Flop: A 5 6 rainbow. Old man bets 50, one caller, I make it 200. He calls.

Turn: 7, he checks, He has about 400 left, I cover, whats your move?

I re-raise PF to isolate old guy.

Given how you played it, I like the flop re-raise. Since his hand range is pretty wide, I'd check behind on the turn and call a river bet.

Has he been calling reraises? With position the entire hand, raise to isolate him, maybe $100 straight. If he calls and you get that flop, I think you have some options on getting his stack. 1/2 or 3/4 pot bet on flop, all in turn.

I'd reraise preflop.

Having not done so, I'd valuepush here.

as you played it, I agree with Waxie's line above on turn/river.

Not reraising preflop is criminal.

Yes, it was a mistake to not re-raise prelop for he probably would have called it. He was really drunk and just playing crazy. I had only played with him once before but from what people told me money doesnt matter.

On to the hand, when he checked, I wasnt sure what to put him on. He did call a 400 all-in bet with an ace on the board in a previous hand when he had KK.

I felt like checking would have been good, but I didnt because he was playing so bad. I bet 175 and he put me all-in. Another 225 to me, I called rather quickly hoping he would show me AJ. Instead I was drawing dead, he had 89 of diamonds. What can you do. I guess checking behind on turn would have been best, the only problem was the river was a King, what happens when he goes all-in on the river, who calls here?

If I'm checking the turn I'm doing so with the intention of letting him bluff the river. Thus, there are very few rivers I would not call an all in with if I was to check the turn. If the turn was an 8 or 9 you still probably would have stacked him...given the description you gave.

Unlucky, move on.

Holla.
