You have a tendency to check every top pair on the flop. What's up with that??

I can't justify a call here. There are too many hands that will scare you and kill your action if you are ahead.

I'm not posting the ones where I bet the flop, and every one folds. Furthermore, opponents (in this case just one) are more likely to either limp with weak aces. Regardless, I was expecting a check from BB, and a bet (pot steal) from limper, in which case I was planning to c/r.

Call and check-raise all-in on turn!

why are you randomly betting some pots with ace-high, and then checking others?

People at the 22s aren't keeping track of your betting patterns. Just pot the flop and go from there.

I think it's impossible to make a read like that. Especially level 1 when there has been no action in the hand so far. Much easier to just bet out IMO.

That's not even crossing my mind. And this is a $33, FWIW.

That is such an odd bet from BB. I'd probably fold here simply because I have absolutely no idea where I am in this hand and with his overbet it will be more costly to find out than I am comfortable with.

If he bets 45 I don't mind a raise to 130 or so. But cranking it up to 200 is too costly and with no position on the guy I'll just move on to the next hand.

Scuba you gotta start leading flops a lot more if you're so intent on playing pots out of position! Leading is great, gives you value for when you're winning, gives you the initiative, gives you a lot better idea of where you're at, etc. Checking is for wusses!

I like to 1/2 pot this flop, lets weaker aces come along for the ride, you gotta lead this flop.

in level 1, i don't read much into BB's "over" bet. i tend to look at his 75 bet as, "i have a decent hand and i think betting 30-45 is just too small so i'll bet 75" (is this too much assuming on my part?). i would never fold on the flop. i would prolly raise to 200ish and push on the turn if no scare card. (too aggressive?) i sometimes call too and go from there. but it seems like bad things happen more often when i just call...

i just don't think he has two pair, so the only hands to fear are AQ and AJ.

Check calling is a great way to control the pot on the flop so that you don't have to navigate tricky streets oop in a bloated pot. You shouldn't always check call, but in lots of the situations you've posted, in a vacuum, your check call has been the best play. Check call here too. I have no idea why you would fold here. Your hand is extremely under represented and his o-bet isn't exactly strong. I think he has a weaker A a lot here.
