Dont like anything I did here, but I guess my biggest question is do you give a unknown 22'er credit here and lay it down on the turn?

Also should I have taken the lead anywhere? I felt like I was way ahead or way behined, so the idea with checking was allowing him to bluff the max.

wtf? you checked to him on the turn didn't you? How else would he have first action when you're SB and he's UTG?

in this case, I call quickly.

Well, first let me say I would've folded that AJo preflop and this hand is exactly why I play as tight as I do in the early stages.
1) not s00ted (4:1 with AJo sucks)
2) generally no reads
3) n0t so0ted (s00tedness justifies everything)
4) OOP
5) pwnt by highly possible AK, AQ
6) n0t s0oted (for obvious reasons)

I really don't like check-calling, it's too passive for me. But if you lead out and get called/raised, what are you gonna do? That's why I fold preflop. Sorry

yeah exactly. I would have bet/folded turn (like half pot bet) and I would have folded PF.

However, this being a 22, there are many many worse aces that villain could have.

For some reason this really smells like AK to me.

I'm not saying it's the best line, but I would probably re-raise to roughly 250 on the flop. I think that it gives you a good idea of where you stand. I figure a call by villian may signal a worse A, and you can fold to a push.

I don't know how much better the 22s are than the 11s, but just tonight in the second hand of an 11, the UTG raises to 55, UTG+1 pushed 800, I called in MP1 with AKo, and the UTG+1 flipped AJo. I wouldn't give your typical PP player too much credit. It doesn't help, but I think that here, you're ahead about 50/50 unless this guy is better than the average player.

P.S. He could have donkey played a pair of sixes pre flop.
