Ogre

Since I quit eating at chipotle Ive had a chance to mix it up with some other fast food places. Ive been going to mcdonalds a lot lately because they have 2 42" plasmas to watch TV on.

I usually get a #1 bigmac with a coke or chocolate shake

Haven't been in forever; the only thing I really like is the fries. Oh and sausage biscuits.

Used to eat it a lot, pretty much whatever the 'mcdeal' was. Stopped eating mcdonalds now but everynow and then have a craving for fillet o'fish, my all time fav.

Breakfast - Sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin
Lunch/Dinner - Two cheeseburger combo meal

That said, I eat at McD's about 3-4 times a year.

Only breakfast. Sausage/egg biscuit meal or bacon/egg/chz biscuit meal.

I dont think he ever made a thread about it. i too am interested in how someone can go from eating chipotle daily to not at all. mcdonalds is a serious downgrade. esp when you get a decent amount of free stuff from chipotle.

I used to eat chipotle once or twice a day during the summer. Then when the school year ended they had to hire a bunch of new people and they sucked at making burritos. The wrap jobs were a joke (i have pics of them on my phone they are gross) so i quit eating there. I came back a few weeks later and had a few "good" burritos but i just didnt enjoy them as much as i used to. I think overall Im burnt out and i will go back but right now i like eating a variety like mcdonalds wendys arbys outback

I watched supersize me a little while ago and it doesnt bother me because i couldnt get fat if i wanted to. im 6'2" 135

Big Mac - 560 Calories, 30g Fat 47% Daily fat allowance
Large Fries - 520 Calories, 25g Fat 38% Daily fat allowance
Medium Choc Shake - 580 Calories, 14g Fat 21% daily fat allowance

You pick about the worst fast food choice possible.

P.S. I hope you don't get the 32oz. shake those have 1160 calories.

Holy cow.

Thanks for the story. I used to eat Chipotle several times a week, but there are no locations within 100 miles of my new house. The worst part is, I have a free burrito certificate that I never got to use. It's taunting me...

Unless you get the fruit salad, water and a dressingless, chickenless salad, you are probably hitting the 1k mark in calories

That said, I realized I didnt give what I eat on average:
Chicken Selects (great when you mix the buffalo and ranch sauce)
Double Cheeseburgers- fresher than most of the quarter pounders, a little more satisfying
McChicken- Good stuff there. Get it hot and you have a winner.
The new chicken sandwiches are excellent, but expensive.

oddly enough, I just finished watching "super size me" for the first time tonight. And ive vowed to not eat any fast food at all for a month and see how I feel (I dont eat a whole lot of fast food now, but still more than I should)

I never eat at McDonalds tho, when I do tho, the only thing I eat is the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit....and I actually think those things are better than sex. But that [censored] gay ass 10:30 rule keeps me from ever having them

MH,

haha, thanks -- I was really stoned at the time and it seemed like nothing. I just mashed it down and jammed it in my mouth.

Another trip to mcdonalds after getting ripped, me and a friend went through the line... he ordered 2 mcchickens and a large fry, i ordered 2 double cheeseburgers and a large fry. We usually make a 2nd trip through the line ... tonight we decided to seriously jam it home. We ordered 60 nuggets. He ate 33, I ate 27. Since he had more than me, he offered to buy me a six piece so I didn't feel left out. I think we each had like 6 sweet and sours too... looking at this i think it's time for a diet...

I didn't eat again for 24+ hrs

Yeah, that's why the McDonalds in Vegas (on the strip) is awesome - it opens at 5;30am; so I would time it so, I would leave the casino and get there just in time to have a Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit and then go back to the hotel and sleep til 2pm.

I think that most people who were affected by SuperSize Me already knew that McDonald's isn't exactly health food. However, what was enlightening was exactly *how* bad it is for you. I always knew it was garbage, but I thought of eating McDonald's as being along the same lines as eating a bag of chips, or having beer and nachos...but it's so much worse for you than that.

The lengths to which the fast food industry has gone to get children 'hooked' on their food was interesting, as well. Again, the fact that McDonald's advertises to children is nothing new, but the insidious nature of McDonald's children's advertising is also something that most of us didn't think twice about.

I thought Super Size Me was conceptually stupid before I ever saw it. After seeing it, I still think it's a stupid concept, but there's a LOT of interesting information in there about the food industry, health education, etc etc etc. People saying "[censored] Morgan Spurlock, haha of course you're going to get fat and sick if you eat three trillion calories of fat a day, [censored]" probably haven't seen the movie. I know, because that's what I said before I saw it.

I mean, yeah, his little journey into fatty-dom yields obvious results. But the movie's filled with fairly interesting investigations into other things related to the fast food industry. It shouldn't be taken as gospel, and anyone who needs a movie to tell them eating fast food regularly is bad for you is a [censored] moron. But it's still a movie worth watching.

Ogre and others,
The reason that breakfast cannot be served all day is because the same grill is used to cook meat and sausage and steak, so there are issues with that. Only having one grill to cook the meat on will make everything take longer to get, and eggs get their own separate grill. Additionally, there is not enough space to store both the breakfast food and the lunch food in the cabinets. FInally, if there was breakfast all day, the food would suck cause the eggs take forever to cook and are a pain, and they dry out in the cabinets in twenty minutes.

As to the magic 1030wall: Often, the employees that open the store get to have their break once breakfast is all cleaned up, so they rush to finish it to clean it up so they can enjoy their half hour of solitude. Breaakfast is more of a pain in the ass to serve, too, hence employees try to stop it as fast as possible.

As an aside: If you are persistant enough, you can get hotcakes or a breakfast burrito any time of the day.

NLSoldier,
If breakfast was served all day, trust me it would be a negative margin as the waste would be astronomical, and as for the employees: don't [censored] where you eat. THe grill is like the defense in football. They arent the glamourous ones, but they are what wins.

You already know this but this reminds me of these fat old ladies who would eat at Carl's Jr about 3 times a week when I worked there and order double western combos with onion rings and extra large diet cokes. That always amused me.

Oh I really really like quarter pounders, and am shocked that people prefer big macs.

To all responding to my post,

Of course I knew fast food was bad for you, I hardly eat the stuff. It was shocking to see the damange it could have on the body after only one month. Plus, I literally just got on the computer right after watching it, so the memory was still fresh in my mind.

I rarely eat there because I far prefer Burger King, or even In and Out or Wendy's, but when I do I get a medium QBC meal.

I just got done watching "Super Size Me" for the first time and I have vowed never to eat fast food again. Of course, I won't stick to this but I'm going to try my best to get it down to once a month.

if you eat a billion calories of anything per day, you will gain weight. how was that news? what does it have to do with mcdonald's specifically?

Been done:

(CBS) In the award-winning documentary film "Super Size Me," filmmaker Morgan Spurlock went on a 30-day diet, eating nothing but McDonald's fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The film made headlines because Spurlock gained a lot of weight and suffered a number of physical ailments.

But now, an Illinois man, Dennis Yohnka, is flipping "Super Size Me" on its stomach: He's lost 40 pounds in 50 days by eating little other than McDonald's salads.
