View Full Version : What Bonus Should I seek, Depositing Soon

12-04-2005, 02:02 PM
I am depositing 200 bucks online soon for poker, and am thinking about depositing it in absolute poker so I can get their 200% bonus upg to $200. I heard this was very hard to clear however, and I was wondering what people thought of trying to do this at the $50NL level. Is it even possible in 60 days? If it's not reasonable, where else could I think about depositing for the best bang for my buck bonus wise?

I think it's clearable at the 50NL. The games there aren't great, but certainly beatable.

Of course it depends how often you play and how many tables. At $50 NL it clears at around $1.5 an hour. So long as you play more than 150 table hours (if you 3 table this is 50 hours total in 2 months) it will be clearable.

In addition to this you get rakeback ON TOP of the amount you get from the bonus. This almost doubles the amount of extra money you get.

If I deposit $200 bucks but still put in the code for the 200% bonus up to $200, can I still get it even though I deposited more than the $100 bucks maximum for the max bonus. I wanted to deposit more then $100 so I would have more cushion in my bankroll, but wanted to get the 200% bonus up to $200. Is this possible?

the bonus is 200% up to 200, any money above 100 just goes to ur account, this is true for all bonuses that have a max bonus

It's been said many times before, but you may want to seek out some other softer sites first.

With $200 I would do something like this...

1. Bet365 signup. $100, 500 raked hands
2. Bet365 December Bonanza. If you can handle $1/$2, although some claim that you can clear it at $0.50/$1 limit. If you can't handle the stakes necessary for this then just skip.
3. SportingBet. Easy $100 for 500 raked hands.
4. Golden Riviera. Another Prima with an easy signup. $50 for 250 raked hands
5. Paradise Poker. Find an affiliate with a 50% to $100 bonus. $100 for 1000 raked hands.

And now you have the necessary $500 to maximize most of the bonuses out there...

If you do signup with Absolute, make sure you get a rakeback deal. There is no reason not to have rakeback at Absolute because they don't deduct bonuses from MGR.

"And now you have the necessary $500 to maximize most of the bonuses out there..."

Can you please explain this statement, why is $500 the necessary number you need?

Wouldn't it make more sense, if you had something like 500 bucks, to deposit it in full tilt, where they have a 100% deposit bonus up to 600 bucks? Is there something I'm missing here?

The one thing your missing is you should take a little time
and start going back through all of the old posts on this
forum. Write down each site that looks interesting and
then add to it as you find other posts about it.

If you do this you will no just about everything you
will need to get started!

Clearing requirements are rough.

I haven't played there yet, so I don't have data for Full Tilt, but from using the 30,000+ hands at the 10+ other sites I've played 1/2 full ring fixed limit it looks like the Full Tilt Bonus will clear at around $2.61/100 hands at the $1/$2 FR fixed limit level. So the full signup bonus ($600) will take roughly 23,000 hands to clear. That's not exactly a great hourly rate when you compared it to other bonuses being offered...

Hmm NL$50 I dunno, that only 4 buyins for you, I would say that a mightly small bankroll for that limit. Actually, I would consider playing at .5/.10 NL tables (thats where I started over a year ago). With $200 you would have 20 buyins which should be enough assuming you are a winning player. The only bummer here is that at most sites the clearing rate is pathetic nowdays at that limit. If it were my money, I would check around and see which site with NL .05/10 tables has the best bonus. Which site would entirely depend upon which sites you already have accounts on. You might wanna check the Prima sites, specifically Bet365. The bonus will clear slowly at this limit but if you are willing to be patient and put in the time you should do fine. I actually started out by playing on Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet. The bonus at Ultimate Bet is pretty crappy at low limits now days. So check around, if you are gonna play no limit, I highly recommend at least 20 buyins unless you are a seasoned NL player.
