well we at least need to make sure the turn isn't a Q before I'd feel good about folding this.

Hey, the decision is between capping and calling here. You definitely can't fold. MP's range still contains pocket pairs, hearts, and even just big aces. CO has donky stats but only a 5 PFR. Still, he could have hearts, JJ, TT or some other random hand.

The only hand that MP might fold to a cap is a low pocket pair, which we actually want him to fold (it would be incorrect). However he probably won't fold this.

So a cap would not be for protection.

So would it be for value? Do we have 33% equity against their ranges on this board?

Let's try these ranges:

on board of 3h 4c 2h

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 33.9191 % 31.36% 02.56% { QdQh }
Hand 2: 25.9403 % 24.05% 01.89% { 77+, AhKh, AhJh, AhTh, Ah9h, Ah8h }
Hand 3: 40.1406 % 37.52% 02.62% { TT+, AhKh, AhJh }

So if that's right its about a wash. There are some other considerations. Not capping allows you to save bets if the turn is an ace or heart. If you cap you will also usually lead the turn and better hands can punish you (worse hands will still raise too probably so this is mitigated a bit).

So I think you should call.
