View Full Version : Is 2001 fp that great?

it seems like everyone on this site is in love with this monitor. is it really that much better than the dell 19' that's 1 inch smaller and $150 dollars cheaper? i know the 19' has fewer pixels but with the new party beta if you can resize it might not be that big a deal. has anyone compared the two and has an oppinion?

Yes, it is. Personally I don't like the new smaller party windows, they are a little too hard to read for me, I suppose if you don't mind them, the 2001 isn't as critical, but I absolutely love both of mine.

I don't have a 2001fp, but I'd recommend it over the 19". Keep in mind that Party is one of the very few sites that are offering the smaller windows. Stars, Paradise, Cryptos, etc. still need 1600x1200 resolution.

Yes...It definely is. When I got mine, and when friends I know got theirs, the reaction was always "Wow, it's way better than I thought."

don't know about the 24", but over the 19" it is. and it is not even close.

I concur.

The 24 inch is...well...about as good as you can get for sub-$1,000. on a Monitor...though I saw in another post Dell is coming out with a 30 inch LCD Monitor...I can not imagine how freaking huge
that would be on your desk, as the 24 inch is just so imposing and huge...

If you get a monitor without the resolution capabilities that you need, you are wasting your money. even if the 19 inch you are talking
about were 1/3rd of the price of the 2001fp, it still would be a better idea to get the 2001fp.
If you're serious about poker (and are a winning player lol), the monitor will pay for itself soon...the 19 inch would be a waste of money IMO.

it is, but is mostly better for non poker reasons. you can still fit only 4 non-overlapping tables, with a little extra space on the side. when the party beta is fully functional, I guess you could fit more, but that's true of all monitors.

it's better than the 2001fp for general computer use, and especially for HDTV/DVD viewing.

it's also a lot more expensive. I have a 2405 and an old 17 inch lcd, and sometimes I think I would be better off w/ 2 2001fp. only sometimes though /images/graemlins/wink.gif

what do you think is better?:
1 2405FPW or
2 2001fps?

If you could have either setup for the same exact price, which would you take? (and why)
I don't have a 2001fp, let alone 2...lol

for purely poker, if you play more than 4 tables, the 2 2001fp's are much better than 1 2405. the 2405 doesn't really give you more poker real estate (unless you are talking about the new Party release).

for other purposes (things I mentioned above), the 2405 is probably better, but keep in mind, you probably need an additional monitor if you like to web surf/check email while you're 4 tabling.

since I already had a 17 inch, the 2405 was a better choice for me. if I had zero monitors, and wanted to 4 table (or 8 table) and/or do other stuff, I would say the 2 2001fp's.

of course, buying 1 2405 always leaves you the ability to buy a matching one in the future, but I'm honesly not sure how practical that is. I would probably hurt my neck from moving back and forth to look at the 2. that would be REALLY wide.
