I hate myself when I call down in situations like these were Im almost sure Im beat. Should I fold? Assume a typical player or explain what difference a read would make.

I fold the turn in Hand 1.
I might 3bet and fold to a cap on the flop. Or bet/fold the turn if just called.

Hand 2. I'm not capping the flop.
I'm checking the turn and folding if it's two back to me.

After capping the flop -b/f, b/f- you played it fine.

im pretty sure you have the odds to chase your 6 outs on the turn in hand 1... that is assuming you are even behind.

river is much closer, im not sure you have enough for a call there, that said in game i play it the same as you.

hand 2 i coldcall the flop, and let the turn check through. if the water is calm i bet the river.

I don't like this. The villain could easily be scared of trips (we openraised in MP3; we could have A9s, T9s etc) and call us down with the best hand.

I also don't know why you're folding on the turn and not the flop.

This is reads come in. I said I might. Especially if villian is capable of laying down a K to a turn bet.

Because I think there is a non-zero chance that the turn gets checked through. But folding the flop might be the best play.
