View Full Version : $33's - Postflop, two annoying turns

No phenomenal reads, villain in Hand #2 doubled up calling down A2o on Axx board and rivered a gutshot. My image so far is rockish.

Both hands were intentionally played passively by me preflop, so WRT to turn action, my holding isn't obvious to either villain. In hand #1, I wanted to call down an inferior ace, and wasn't sure what to make of his turn bet given my flat call on the flop. Hand #2, I lead out since I'll get action from Kx, intending to C/R AI on the turn, not expecting him to shove. Minraises at $33's (preflop) lately are often any two broadway, although I can't imagine a donk shoving KJ or QT on this turn.

I didn't read your comments, but 1 is a push and so is 2. Not hard ones either. You mucked up pf hard on 2 as well.

Looking to c-r the flop in the second is an option. But with his PF raise, I like the notion of having him push us off -- leading a little more 'probe' looking because so. T100 maybe.

there shouldnt be this much postflop playing. stop slowplaying these hands!!!

btw if you are going to call preflop, not raising the flop is horrible in both of these

I don't necessarily mind the passive preflop play, but get feisty on the flop. You won, you got action and your hand is disguised.

Both are almost completely drawless, so I see them as WA/WB and don't want to blow villains off Ax and Kx. I suppose shutting out BB in Hand #2 is a concern, but I would have no trouble shutting down if he showed aggression.

Your point that the dynamic is changed given no PF raise is definitely a good one though.

WRT Hand #2 I see how not reraising PF was pretty hideous since I'm OOP and for stack size considerations. I just hate putting in that 3x reraise since it looks so much like AA or KK, but it apparently has to be done here.
