View Full Version : For those that shave...

Yes I did a search, found nothing.

I'm just really curious if my skin in that area will ever get immune from razor rash. 24 hours later and my whole crotch looks like its covered in AIDS. This time I shaved 10 minutes into a steaming hot shower and used plenty of shaving cream. WTF?

Do you trim first? I would use clippers and then do it. The toughest part is the taint, because you don't want to mess up right there. One, it hurts and two the girl thinks something is wrong with you.

Also, I have never considered myself a tough guy, but I am thinking "man panties" are the way to go. I mean DeNiro in Cape Fear and Cage in Wild At Heart? Those were some tough mofo's; makes me think I should stop with the boxers and start going leopard print.

Trimming is good, but I can do without the discomfort of using a razor on my area.

I am assuming the itching goes away after a while. I mean, I have never heard a girl complain about it, except when it starts growing back. Then it itches. But, my face is like that also (yes, my face is like a vagina).

Actually my experience is that it does get better. As a teen I used to beable to only shave every few days (despite needing to daily) due to razor burn etc. Now I'm in my thirties and just need a break once or twice a week.

I shave in the shower but when I really suffered and had to shave two days in a row I found shaving in really cold water was the best option. It's not fun, but honestly the after pain is massively reduced. If you try it give us a trip report.

Edited to add : Hahaha, I missed the "whole crotch" part. I suppose my suggestion still stands though.

Riddick,

I agree with Cola on trimming first if it has been awhile

Other than that, I really wish there was a good product whatever it was to solve this problem for the common man

Still using a razor,

Sounds like a bad skin reaction. Go buy some neosporin and use it frequently.

you shouldn't be shaving down there unless a really hot girl asked you to because it turns her on.

You want to TRIM - keep it neat with some clippers....not shave.

I will help you metros out, and let you in on the stripper secret.

After shaving 'there', coat the area with deodorant. Not antiperspirant. This will help eliminate the shave bumps.

Trim the hair short first. Then, before you shower, on DRY skin, apply this:

Then use this:

Glide; don't press.

you're clearly suffering from razorburn. wtf r u, n00b?

apply some moisturizer and you should see some better results. I shaved my legs a month ago, and the razorburn was disgusting and weird. it still hasn't completely gone away, and this concerns me.

Riddick,

I don't shave downstairs, but I do shave my entire chest - from neck down to the top of the pubes. I find the most sensitive spot on my body is from my waistline down to the beginning of the pubes... whenever I shave that, I ineviably get an ingrown hair or five in that region. I've been shaving this area consistently for over 6 months now, and it still gets irritated.

I think its just something you gotta deal with for awhile, until your skin gets used to it. This is skin that's not used to any SUN - much less a razor. Maybe try nair? I dunno /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'd side with Dominic here. Unless the lady really really really wants you to be hairless, I'd opt to let it grow back in and keep it trimmed. I shaved it all once before - and yep, the first few days afterward itch like you wouldn't believe.

Have fun,
yasher

I'm surprised so many use a razor down there for seemingly all parts of the shave. A electric, the rectangular kind, is very easy to shave with down there. The moustache/sideburn/beard trimmer thingy is also very good at getting the hairs trimmed pretty close. Nail scissors can be used to get things to shaving length, but you don't really need to, if you use the beard trimmer thingy. Do it in the shower so it's easy to get the hair off you so it doesn't mess up the shave.

There is a product called Bikini Zone.

APPARENTLY if used correctly, it helps a GREAT deal.
