What is the best execution only net broker for Non-US invest [Archive]

Hi,

I have some spare $30k-$50k US dollars to invest, I decide to put them into the stockmarket, I resident in United Kingdom and hold UK citenzenship.

Any broker recommendations for investing in US stocks and bonds? I'm also interested in emerging market growth funds.
I need a cheap US Internet broker.

unless you are trading very regularly you dont need to worry about cheap. you need to worry about service since you are out of the country and access is most important to a live talking person. i suggest fidelity or vanguard. as they have people that can straighten out any problems you run into. like currency rates and taxes, and getting you money to you with out alot of hassle. after a while if you need to save the miniscule bucks you can change over as you get the hang of it.
