I suspect that the Button is a 2+2er, if not he plays like one. Real tight early and has pushed when he should. Ie., I think he could be on pretty much any two here.

No way. Your hand is pretty terrible. And you lose more than half your chips if you lose.

I overpush for sure.

Eh...maybe I'm wrong, but I would fold this every time.

Yeah I think you're wrong & I also think it's not that close.

I thought "duuh.. easy push!" as soon as I read it. You're way ahead of his range, you won't bust out if you lose, and blinds are big.

edit: oh and if you fold, it will be very hard for you to finish 3rd, because you're one of the three short stacks. Having the 2+2'ers to your right doesn't help either. If you bust him out there are 4 left, and you have a great shot at the money.

bump. I really think this is an interesting hand that should get more discussion. Plays like this have been working well for me lately, and I believe is something that has improved my game. But, I want to be sure.

villian's range is enormous with less than 3 BB. i'm certainly calling with any ace, the fact that you're on the SB and your ace is suited is just gravy.

haven't bought SNGPTs yet... anybody calculate this one?

button...
pushing 22+,A2s+,A3o+,KTs+,KJo+,QJs +.5
pushing 22+,A2+,K2+,Q2s+,Q6o+,J7s+,J9o+,T8s+,98s +2.5

knowing large-stack BB will be calling (when you don't), we don't necessarily have to widen his range too much, but enough perhaps to make this a push. a read on BB would help as well. you don't stand to fair as well 3-way, if BB is loose enough to call your overpush with some paint or rag ace of his own.

Everyone has shown tight calling standards at this table.

Thanks for the comments. Villain had T8o and hit a couple 8s to win the hand. Based on the comments I received, I'd push this again.
