View Full Version : Deep stack QQ hand

I've been playing with this guy for quite a while, over 400 hands tonight. At the time of the hand, he was 19/7/2.05, but those aggression numbers are misleading. He plays high PP and TPTK very very fast, leading for PSB on all streets, overbetting and running very very fast. Also, he isn't exactly known for subtlty, I saw him open-push (over $85, an overbet about 10x the pot) on a small raised pot with the rivered boat. I haven't seen him show down many sets. The one hand I saw him play, he lead on all streets, but since it was an unraised pots, they were relatively small bets. Check/raising is not something I have seen him do and that was what made me think he had a set. The problem here is the turn. Given a check-raise, his bet size seems small. He has declared he has a very nice hand with the c/r, but this bet size is only around 3/5. Based on the the bet size, I am tempted to say he had something like AJ (or a very oddly played AA/KK), but the huge bet on the river makes me think he had the set. What's my line?

How aggressive is he with a flush draw? I can see him playing A10s the same way. It's either this or a nice set of 5's. Right before he bet, he said "Bet $50, call a push."

You're not ahead of much the villain is coming at you with for $50 on the river. I'm folding here. If villain outplayed me with AJ good for him.

edit: Actually, I can see the villain playing AA or KK this way also. You're heads up already and he has a great concealed overpair. When he checkraised you on the flop he knew you definitely didn't have JJ.

if you don't want to muck the flop which I would usually NOT do. the turn completes a a draw and he leads into you... I'd simply muck the turn.

Turn: Set afraid of the flush.

River: Boat no longer afraid of the flush.

Gotta let this one go. He isn't betting AJ into paired/flush board like that.

When I say he plays TPTK fast, this is what I mean (SB is the villian):

Button ($52.60)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T/images/graemlins/heart.gif, 9/images/graemlins/spade.gif.

Flop: ($9) 6/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, J/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
SB bets $10, Button calls $10.
