Amazon just sent me a link to this book as a book I might enjoy. Has anyone read it? Opinions?

I reviewed it for Poker Player about a month ago. My review is also here:

In summary, I enjoyed it.

I generally agree with the review Nick provide a link to in the above post. The book is definitely worth a read, and gives a pretty good sense of what the early WSOP's were like, which is probably the best part of the read.

Agreed. You are probably the first one at Poker Player to use the terms "apocryphal" and "staid history text", or even know what they mean for that matter.

Thank you both for the kind words, but I need to point out that I know quite a few of my colleagues are very literate individuals.

I also reviewed the book on my website:

http://www.billrini.com/index.php/2005/1...eries-of-poker/ (http://www.billrini.com/index.php/2005/11/06/all-in-the-almost-entirely-true-story-of-the-world-series-of-poker/)

Summary, a pretty good book though if you've spent a lot of time around poker, some of the stories may seem a little cliche by now.
