There's been some talk, so let's get this thing started. I am willing to do all the organization; here's some questions to start:

I'm trying to make a schedule right now, kind of like Poker Superstars. Everyone plays 6 matches, gets points, and then you advance some number of people.

Anyone like that idea? The game is too short term luck to rely on one game.

I'm down. I haven't played in a long time, so I forget what the card scale means off hand, but, this sounds like fun

If the round-robin style wins out, then I could definitely see awarding points to first and second place.

Card scale is how much your set is worth. So if you get a risk, you can turn them in for 4, 6, 8 , or 10 units in the one. I don't like the one where it keeps going up since it causes a bigger luck factor. All 5's isn't as good because there is an element of strategy in trying to time your sets that makes things interesting.

For anyone choosing Manual, you have to realize the odds of getting 6 people together in a league is going to be extremely difficult. So it may take 2-3 days just to place units.

Looking at the way the poll's turning out, I'm thinking of starting two leagues. One would be free, the other would cost something and probably be a team league.

The 5,5,5,5 card scale is in last place. But, after playing the other options, I definitely believe 5,5,5,5 is, by far, the superior option.

agreed -

it seems like anything else just turns it into a crapshoot to see who can get the most cards cashed the fastest -

I'm watching my 4,5,6,7,8,9.... escalating cards game conclude (I was eliminated). I am now 100% against the escalating cards being used in a league. The game has turned into a ridiculous series of massive attacks by gigantic armies which take 1/3 of the map at a time until they die out.

The 4,6,8,10,4,6,8,10,4....system is silly. There's not point to it.

5,5,5,5 is the only way to go.

I agree. It's dumb for me to be sitting around hoping nobody cashes in cards so I get 10 instead of 4.

I'm very interested. I've played over 50 games in the last 3 days at dominategame. On warfish do they offer fog of war or capitals? Those are two variations in the game that I really like.

All,

I would have joined this if the competition at OOT were stronger, but I don't think me joining would be fair to the rest of the players.

Enjoy your league,
El Diablo (RISK champion)

Scotch,

Thank you for your challenge, but I have already retired after my smashingly successful RISK comeback. You can measure how you might have fared against me by playing against Dynasty (I knocked him out in a pretty dominating and swift fashion).

Have fun,
El Diablo (Retired Reigning RISK Champion)
