if the pizza is spicy (most likely from spicy sausage), the zin might not be a bad choice here.

I would normally recommend the Shiraz. My only question is if your Zinfandel is red or white?

If it's white, you either live with a woman or are under immediate suspicion of being a raving homosexual.

Once I had Coppola Claret with pizza and it was delicious. It's a nice, deep red.

I had zin with pizza tonight. I tend to drink more zin than cab with pizza. Zins or shirazez seem to go well. OTOH, one of the little things that turned me on to better wines was a dinner at a prof's house in college where the prof's husband uncorked an 8-10 year old low or mid level bordeaux of some sort with cheese pizza. Oh man it was good. But I tend to lean towards the zin.

Cab? That's a distant third place here, and don't even consider the chardonnay.

The question comes down to the particular Shariz and Zin, but you should be fine with either one.

Well, at least you're out of the closet. After all, most straight men prefer pizza and beer.

I went with the Cab Sav last night, but i had some left over dough so i made a calzone for lunch. Since there's about a foot of snow outside it doesn't look like i'll be leaving anytime soon, so i broke open the shiraz about an hour ago.
As to those who think that men perfer beer with pizza, this wine kick is recently, about three weeks old. I like to try new stuff and i feel no reason to be tien down to your stereotypes, especially when there are so many other things to be tied down to which are much more fun.

Ding Ding. Beer goes with most everything, but it's particularly awesome with pizza. Just drink a glass of wine before/after the meal and you got all bases covered.
