Villain is not aggressive, but rather a tight and cautious player. I decided to slow play AQs for this hand PF.

I wanted to flush out anyone with 1 spade with the flop bet.

Villain flat called, I got scared. Turn bet was probably rather weak on my part.

River is the shite card. I didn't want to show weakness so made another bet. Weak but better than nothing Razz

Comments/Suggestions please~

Welcome to the boards /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don't minraise preflop...it doesn't serve much purpose, other than inflating that pot with alot of callers, which is what you don't want.

flop looks ok, but when you're betting in other streets, your bets have to be purportional to whats in the pot...so betting $5 into a 20 and 30 dollar pot is bad. You should be betting at least 2/3 of the pot

As played, you're probably beat because you didn't raise enough preflop, allowing any Ace to play

If I'm reading this correctly, you hit the 2nd nut flush on the river, or were you just saying that you had AQ suited, not A, Q of spades? It's unclear.

If it was suited, but without spades, it's not a horrible way to get to a cheap showdown, but most good players will sense weakness and blow you off your hand on the turn.

On a hand like this I like to play his cards, instead of mine - assuming he doesn't have the K, Q, or Js, a turn pot bet and river 2/3 pot bet should take him out.

AQ suited. It was of hearts.

Yeah, I was definitly showing weakness on the turn. A bigger PF raise would have been the way to go as well.

Bigger raise PF. Bet 3/4 pot on flop, 2/3 on turn.
