How do you play two big cards at the flop and the turn when the flop cards do not help? As a beginner I am particularily interested in learning about pot odds, expectation etc.

Its safe to assume by your post that you do not have a beginners book on poker, otherwise you would have an idea about the principles of high card when you miss...
