View Full Version : ($20) Some pocket pair hands

11-30-2005, 11:59 PM
I've got some hands that I'd like to hear about. These are all $22 Party pocket pair hands from two diff. tables.
Rather than clutter up the forum, I've included all of them here.

----------------------------------------------------------

SB here got his chips from a set-over-set-over-TPTK hand so no real read. Nor on anyone else yet.

--Was the flop push over-kill? I was definetly influenced by the Andathar guide wh/ I just glanced over for the first time earlier today.

SB checks, Hero calls [t730] , MP2 folds, SB folds.

Final Pot: t222.50

SAME TABLE. Developed some reads--guy to my immediate left is loose-agg, and raiser is pretty tight, the rest of the table seemed solid, nothing significant.

--This fold seemed weak to me, but I feel it was OK here. What about a push? Too many people to act behind me.

SAME TABLE. Very next hand. BB is the LAG.

Scary for me/Scary for him type flop? I didn't know if I should c-bet to represent the A. LAG opponent wouldn't let go of a weak A, nor a draw of his own. Ugg..wasn't it Raptor who said something about having "ballz".

MP2 (t1310)
CO (t410)

Hero checks, BB bets t300, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t570

-----------------------------------------

Next two hands are a different table.

No huge reads, except that everyone at this table is relatively tight for a typical $20. MP2 is really tight. And my image should be tight.

--seems like a weak steal attempt, but my stack size was awkward for this hand. I think I should have pushed, but the BB was tight enough for this and I could still get out if he re-raised.

Final Pot: t225

----------------------------------------

Same reads...SB is the Uber tight guy.

--Again, this fold felt terrible at this stage. The table was pretty tight. Not sure if I should raise given the reads...but it would have been 30% of my stack. Can I push this with just over 10bb and posting bb next hand? ...again, ballz, grow some.

Hand 1. Why overbet this flop? Bet the pot and see what happens.

Hand 2. Easy fold for me.

Hand 3. Yuck. You were the one raising and you give yourself no chance to win the hand postflop. I would probably limp behind him but if you are going to raise you have to bet on a flop like this. Throw out a 150 bet and if he calls you shut down unless you hit the T/images/graemlins/club.gif on the turn.

Hand 4. Standard.

Hand 5. Easy fold.

Hand 1 overbet: I didn't like this either. In the OP I mentioned that I was influenced by the "Andathar RoboGuide" I had peaked at earlier today.

Hand 3 TT: If I cont-bet, I'm left with like 500 chips and I don't think I'm taking this down enough in this spot with a LAG. Or do you think I'm still ahead enough of the times anyway? If he calls, do I assume he has an A or that he's on a draw and now the pots bloated. He bets the turn and I fold? I don't know why you would limp there either?

This board will be scary to the villain most of the time (remember he called from BB which can mean anything). Sure he might have flush, pair of aces or a set/two pair. But most of the time he doesn't. He will fold plenty here IMO.

The reason I limp is because I hate playing TT out of position in a bloated pot in the early levels. I complete and if I don't hit a set or if an A-Q flops, I have no problems getting away from my hand.

Does anyone else limp TT when it folded around to the button, who limps in front of you?

No, I don't. I would even raise it from CO I think.
