Jewish deli meats in Los Angeles (and scorching hot babe pic)

For Angelenos: I'm going home for Hannukah in a few weeks and want to bring my dad a gift from L.A. He loves deli meats, particularly pastrami. I was thinking of Canter's, but I'm not sure if they sell meat by the pound, since it's a restaurant. Or even if they're the best in the city. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best place to get pastrami? It doesn't have to be super-kosher, just good ol' fashioned Jewish deli meat like you'd find in Brooklyn. My dad lives in Tucson, AZ, so he doesn't often get the opportunity to eat anything remotely close to this.


And as required, a really hot babe. I hope you don't mind that virtually every time I post one of these pics, it's Adriana Lima.

Langer's is my death row meal. Just thinking about it makes me so hungry. I've come close to tears eating the #9 sandwich there before. The problem is, take-out is about 75% less good than having it there, so I'm suspicious of how well it would travel.

And, if you need a fake ID or any crack or heroin, it's one-stop shopping.

Was curious so just called Langer's - they do sell cold cuts of pastrami for $18/lb. I know that's pretty damn steep for pastrami, but it's really good. (Extra lean is slightly more expensive, but why would u get that?)

I think I've been sold on Langer's. I'll head down there sometime next week for lunch, just to give it a test drive. Mouth is watering already.
