View Full Version : I'm on an awful posting streak

Recently, I'm having lousy luck with all my posts.

One day, I start a great thread about 3-betting with 88, and it gets zero replies. Next, I figure out the perfect solution to some ungodly difficult probabilities question, only to find that someone posts it first, seconds ahead of me. Getting frustrated, I go over to OOT and try and start discussions on pro wrestling, Paris Hilton and Ted Kennedy; no one says a word.

Becoming desperate, I flame away at random people for the next hour. Yet, not a single person is provoked. I even start mocking El Diablo and Stellar Wind, but they merely ignore me.

Man, I can remember when I used to start threads that stayed on the top of the page for hours. But now, they disappear into oblivion right away.

Is this just bad luck or should I consider the possibility that I'm just a pathetic poster?

And how do you all cope with these tough posting streaks?

Have you tried making a poll?

Those are always popular, especially if you include an option that lets voters insult you.

Wynton,

Try posting new threads using the new Quick Reply function. That has apparently taken hold in some spots here.

These are quality suggestions.

Might it also help if I double-checked to ensure that every sentence contained at least one grammatical or spelling error? Sometimes I get sloppy and include punctuation.

Shenanigans! Pro wrestling threads in OOT are always answered.

I just checked my stats at Pokerforumtracker.

In 2004, I averaged 4.3 responses per thread. In the last month, I'm down to .3 responses.

Maybe I'm just running bad.

Perhaps you've loosened up your starting thread requirements. I highly suggest tightening up. It will certainly improve your results.

Possibly you're so bad you're already ignored!

I'm not sure that I'm too loose, but I might be too passive.

Sometimes when I post I wait until the second paragraph before I say anything mildly irritating. You think that might be the problem?

clearly this is the result of variance.

This post should have been left unreplied to disappear off the first page. Now that would be a bad beat.
