6max NL100 Familypot with 5 people to the flop. No preflop raise. I'm the button with 77. Flop is 976r. SB bets $2 and all call to me. I raise to $14(pot), right/wrong?

SB then raises for 16 more. Whats my play?

SB is a good player. I have $87 and he has me covered.

8T, 85 and 99 are the only hands you fear and you have re-draws against everything but 99. You definitely need to re-raise or push. Villain probably has A8, 89 or a poorly played overpair. You want to get the money in the middle quickly.

I felt pretty sure he had the str8, but thought I could chase the boat and called. He bet 2/3pot on the turn (Kh) and I called. River no help but I made a crying call given the 4:1 odds. He showed 10 8.
Is this the worst play I can make?

he just got lucky - you make the same play in the long run and you'll be good to go.
