Party Poker 1 table tournament NLHE

6 players left, I have 850 (10 started with 800)
Folded to me, I find Js Qs in the small blind. I raise to 90, BB calls.
Flop Qc 5c 9h. I bet 150, BB calls.
Turn Jh. I bet 300, BB calls.
River 8c. I check, BB sets me all in for 310.
I didn't like this river card but had already decided to call because 310 leaves me with little chance of winning and my check was intended to induce a bluff. In hindsight I think I should bet myself because there are lots of hands that the BB would call a bet with but would be happy to check on the end. The only time the BB might bet if I check is with a busted flush or with a ten. My bet of 300 on the turn was intended for value (pot was 480) as I believed the BB had very few ways of winning.
BB showed 5h Ts to win with a straight.
